Is it possible to convert this slide out rangehood to an under mount with DIY modifications to cabinetry?

The under mount rangehood I’m looking at is taller than the existing one so that shelf will need to be adjusted. I’m assuming I’ll also need to add some additional level at the very bottom with the cutouts for the under mount.

I guess just in general, is converting a slide out to under mount do-able/recommended?

Edit: this is the range hood I’m looking at https://www.haier.com.au/cooking/rangehoods/60cm-600-series-integrated-insert-wall-rangehood-hood-to-hob-hph60imb2-61782.html

Engineered Stone Kitchen Benchtop - Cooktop Cutout too small

Hi all, so I recently bought an apartment, it has an engineered stone benchtop in the kitchen. Previous owner had this rented out for like 10-15 years I'd say, so the cooktop and oven are all old. I'm looking to replace them. I'm not in the property yet, but I got an 'asset record' from the previous property management and it says the cooktop has a cutout width of 565mm, and cutout depth of 480mm which both is 10-15mm smaller of the standard 580mm x 490mm.

Trying to understand what I can do, since it's stone, I don't believe I can DIY cut it. It's also such an odd job (I think) that I don't know who to go to. I've asked businesses that renovate kitchens but they said they don't do that. Picture for reference.

Replacing ceramic cooktop with induction cooktop in apartment

I'm looking to upgrade my kitchen but one thing I'm not sure is the cooktop. I've read that, for apartments there are chances that the wiring or setup is not designed for induction cooktops. Then I saw the Haier is offering a low-current version (HCI604FTPB4) of their cooktops and was wondering if anyone has experience with those, if they're any good (are there any limitations).

I still don't know yet what my cooktop is capable of, how do I check?

Struggling with colours and furniture placement

Recently purchased an apartment and will be moving in after the current tenancy ends.

The furniture in the photos belongs will be removed so it will be completely unfurnished.

With the white walls, and cream-ish coloured carpets, I would like some advice on:

  • Colours that goes well (e.g. for couch, dining table, dining chairs, bookshelves)
  • Furniture placement in each area
  • Ideas on how I can separate the dining and lounge
  • Rug ideas

Also, not sure if this is the correct sub to post this on. Please advise if it's the wrong sub.

Thanks.
