Smoker Running Too Hot After Using a Smoker Tube

I added a smoker tube during my cook, and the pit temperature climbed. I removed the tube and turned the smoker all the way down to LOW, but it's still running around 290°F over an hour later. I verified the temperature with a Thermapen, so it's not just the built-in display.

Can a smoker tube somehow cause the fire pot to get too large or leave excess pellets burning, or is this likely another issue? Curious if anyone else has experienced this.

Recteq DualFire — is this center bolt supposed to be here?

Assembling my new DualFire and I’m now one bolt short on another step. I’m wondering if I accidentally used an extra bolt here on the controller box mount.

Is this center/5th bolt supposed to be installed, or should there only be 4 bolts here total?

My 6-year-old daughter is allergic to cashews and pistachios. She has had reactions to both before, and her allergy testing for those was strongly positive.

She recently had testing for other tree nuts too:

- Walnut blood test was barely positive, but skin test was negative

- Pecan blood test was negative, but skin test had a very small reaction

- Allergist said walnut and pecan may actually be safe to try

We are nervous about introducing them and wanted to hear from other parents.

Has anyone had a child allergic to cashews/pistachios but NOT allergic to walnuts or pecans? Did your child pass a food challenge or tolerate them fine?

Just looking for others’ experiences before we decide what to do.
