You get offered a choice. Never have a permanent serious accident, but you’re 10x more likely to have them

So the idea is that you can never have a “true” accident. You have 10x the probability of having any accident, and exactly one hour after it happens you get sent back to before it happens with the certitude it won’t happen. If you or someone else is dead, injured, whatever, it won’t carry back. Would you take it?

Neighbourhood recommendations near Shisu?

Hi everyone! I’m moving with my family to study at Shisu this September for 1-2 years (Hongkou Campus), and I’d like to know your recommendations for good neighbourhoods to live in. We’d like the following:

- Easy access to campus (metro, bus, whatever)
- Around 10-15k if possible for a 2-bedroom
- If possible, near a park or somewhere that’s not too noisy

Good electric bike brands?

Hi guys! I’m looking for a good quality electric bike, however I don’t know the first thing about Chinese brands. I’m looking for something like a Trek (high quality, but not necessarily then most expensive one in the world). I want to get around with my 2 kids. Could you give me your recommendations?

I’m in Shanghai btw

How do you see your future?

I recently travelled to Korea and visited all the cool spots, you guys have a beautiful country, very safe, convenient, clean, the works (way hotter than I expected, but that’s a positive for me). Awesome place to be

That being said, I couldn’t help but notice some things that seemed kinda weird, for example:

- old people everywhere, much more than young people
- spaces in the back of convenience stores that are clearly used for sleeping
- people working at a restaurant late at night being the same ones serving late in the morning
- people getting off the metro and into another line without once looking up from their phones (kinda impressive)
- small kids on the train just crunching math problems non-stop for hours on end
- i don’t mean to be offensive, but it seems like the only place i heard people talking and laughing was wherever they sell alcohol

And other stuff, then I went into this black hole of your demographic crisis, the fertility rate, “hell joseon”, the mental health epidemic, the insane pressure, etc

So, pretty basic questions, but are you happy with how it is? Do you think that the benefits outweigh the costs? What would you change of Korean mentality? Do you want to have kids? Can you?

Thanks in advance for your comments! :)

Looking for recs for a wild trip Seoul?

Hi, so my buddy and I are looking for a 2-week trip there, and I’d like the trip to be on the wild side (not sexual stuff). We’re looking for cultural shocks, weird stuff to eat, visit, late-night raves, all that. Hiking/nature is not really what we’re looking for, more urban exploration. We’re landing in Seoul, but we’re open to other cities.

Could you guys give out recommendations/ideas? (We’re in our 30s, idk if that makes a difference, but in case.)

Thanks!!
