Can I file a non emergency police report

I will try to keep this short and sweet. I am located in the mountains of Colorado, Park County to be exact. There are a multitude of social trails behind my house mainly used for hiking, dog walking and biking. In the last two years there has been a man and his Belgian malinois that frequent the trails. His dog is very aggressive, never one a leash but has a shock collar that has no effect on his dog. Multiple times now over the 2 years his dog has charged, lunged, latched onto my dog. Today was the final straw, as his dog came out of nowhere and charged my dog and went for the throat. As I was about to intervene (I carry a knife and a concealed weapon) the owner came around the corner and called his dog off. I went off on him and told him he needs to leash his dog until it learns to behave. He gave me every excuse under the sun as to why his dog meant no harm. I told him the next time this happens there will be a problem and he just scoffed and told me that the dog was a rescue and had come a long way in two years. I told him IDGAF and that he needed to control his dog or face the consequences.

Now that I have had time to calm down and quit shaking so bad, I want to know if I can file a police report with the county sheriff so that if something does happen in the future I will be covered or there will be a “paper trail” in the case that something does happen to his dog or mine.

Thank you for your time, much appreciated.

Oh no

Sometimes I wonder how my co workers got the job. Just need to vent. Anyone else deal with this? I mean how do you walk away from this and think it’s acceptable for the days rounds?

Need some advice

I’ll start this off by saying I’ve been working at my local golf course for eight years. Up until this season, we have had an application tech he left to go be an assistant superintendent at another course leaving the position vacant. I have been the lead greens keeper for six years now my background in golf was I played competitively through high school and college and only got into the turf side of golf in the past eight years. I inquired about the position early in the season and was told that the superintendent and the assistant superintendent had no interest in hiring an application tech that they would be doing it themselves. fast-forward to about a month ago I came into work and a coworker who has zero Golf Course experience and has been working for the turf management side of this golf course for about two months suddenly was filling the position of application tech. It really caught me off guard because I had been inquiring about it early season and was hoping to advance my career in turf management through taking the application tech job and progressing my career that way, hoping that more opportunities elsewhere would open up. As a lead greenskeeper the ceiling is pretty low and I’ve already hit it. my question to everyone here is how should I proceed? Should I tell the superintendent and the assistant superintendent my dismay and that I feel like I was looked over and not even approached or should I let it go and inquire about jobs at other golf courses thank you for any and all advice.
