cooling bedding stop working halfway through the night

I live in Florida, you all know how brutal the summers are here, super hot and humid. A while back I decided to splurge on a cooling comforter and sheet set, hoping it would actually make a difference.

And honestly? The first 30 minutes were amazing. Felt so refreshing when I first laid down and I fell asleep way faster than usual. But then the problems started creeping in. Around the middle of the night I'd slowly start feeling warm again, a little sweaty. The comforter also feels kind of slippery when I toss and turn, doesn't really stay put on my body. And by morning it feels like it's just soaked up all my body heat and the cooling effect is totally gone.

So I have a few questions for you guys. Is there anything that actually stays cool all night long, preferably in natural materials? For polyester-based cooling products, is it pretty normal for them to just give up after a while, or did I just pick the wrong type? Also open to material recs that are soft and breathable. No linen, I've tried linen before and it's just too stiff for me.

My budget is around $100-160. Really just looking for something that works for hot sleepers long-term. Any help is appreciated!
