Im on kindle so I can read and listen to the text to speech.

I just picked up "Death's Favorite Warlock by Charles Dean" today and went to give it a listen.

I begrudgingly got past the prolog after words like “quests,�, one’, and sthey’re.

Only for this to be standard throughout the whole book.

Here's a small insert of what reading this will be like:

“Your offer?� John asked. “Of course.� He squeezed the stone that had brought him this far. “You didn’t drag me across eleven continents for nothing. What is it you want?� “Her life,� she responded. “Give me her life, and I will keep you and your baby safe.� “No,� he said without a moment’s hesitation. “You don’t understand. I can save you. I can save your child. The two of you can live happily ever after. All you have to do is let me take her life.� “Why? You’re a god here, aren’t you? What good could her life do? I won’t allow it.�

Now trying to read this hurts my eyes and trying to listen to this hurts my ears and makes listening to dialog 100% impossible.

As a whole community can we/authors please normalize dedicating a whole individual chapter whenever there is a status screen review that includes all the stats and skills and abilities and talents and traits and power ups and devotions and blessings and curses and debuffs and .......

As a reader and audiobook listener sometimes getting all that info is a great refresher and reminder of what the character has going on and other times it can be unimportant for the individual because they already remember whats going on with the character.

Some times listing everything is important and other times depending on the story it can be detracting to whats going on.

Im reading a story currently where everything gets listed nd theres also listing for the +1 +5 +22 to the skills to show the advancement and on kindle im swiping the screen like 10-15 times to get through stats only for the stats textbox to appear in the middle of the chapter and actual dialog of the chapter.

Now not every skill readout needs to be individual chapters but really, only, when the listing seems to be excessive or when listing everything in ones status screen or all the characters abilities/stuff

I know as an audiobook reader I always enjoyed this and as im reading more on Kindle im finding it convenient in some situations like the one mentioned above.

I also tend to finish the books in 1-4 settings so the content is still fresh in my head so I might just be biased with this opinion.

What are your thoughts:

-Is it convenient as a reader, why or why not?

-Is it a reasonable ask for authors, as an author, why or why not?

Just a thought but I thought it would be great if Black Flag Resynced add The Wellerman, by Nathan Evans as a collectable sea shanty, but obviously, unfortunately, licenses and rights prevent that.

What are some great Black Flag Resynced shantys to collect and listen to on the high seas? Ive got the basic ones on the first few starting islands up to and including the great inaugua with the manor and Tulum, but might as well include them if you like them for the others that may find this.

Are there other shanty or likewise you'd think would be good to listen to in BF if only it were possible?

Im up to chapters 11.10 and thing just arent jibing with me anymore since the 45 chapters of Interlude: Tales of War.

&gt;!Picking up 11.1 we follow the perspectives 2 new people 68 and Ragay. Neither of these characters have ever been mentioned before so theyre completely new.!<

&gt;! Its jarring to be introduced to new characters with no preface, let alone for those characters to become the main focus of the chapters with no insight as to why. And to top it off theres now 3 different story lines going with no current connection as to why and its just not making any sense to me. !<

&gt;! Following 2 new characters with no current connection to the MC or even earth is actively making me lose interest when the story keeps skipping to what im currently deeming unimportant useless characters as currently they are supplying nothing of relevance to the story. !<

&gt;! So if possible can somebody give me spoilers as to why these 2 character's perspectives are important and when it becomes relevant to Cal and his family and earth? !<
