Seeking Day Hike Suggestion Help
Hello - I'm helping my 18 year old son plan his short visit to Chamonix from Aug 27-30. We're aware that the UTMB is happening then, these were the only dates that worked for him so that's when he'll be there. He's staying at the Alpnenrose Hostel. He'll have 2 full days for day hikes, he's athletic and a strong hiker, but will only have hiking shoes and not looking for anything technical, and around 10 miles or less roundtrip. He's never been to the Alps (we're American) and is into seeing amazing mountain views and can climb elevation but nothing too extreme! Also given the UTMB, not sure if he should try less popular routes since there'll be so many people in Chamonix then. Last question -- are there specific tram or cable car rides that he should take just for the scenery & experience? Thanks soooo much in advance!
