The Art Supplies
Idk about you guys….but I thought the pressure on my wallet couldn’t get any worse, until I walked into Micheal’s and left with nothing this month.
I only buy what I need which is no more than 40-50 dollars and lasts me sometimes a year. One of my items has became 50 dollars and I need it, since I sell my art. My art has now become a secondary income. I sell 2-3 painting a month and aim to sell them around 500 combined. Yes, I have tried selling for more but everyone is feeling it, including the people who collect.
Now I clearly love to paint so I do it leisurely as well, to cut the cost, I recently looked at the dollarama art section and saw more options that I thought, specifically for my leisure projects.
Before I splurge and buy everything on the rack, I thought I would ask everyone here who has painted with them experienced painters or not. Is it worth it? Do they last? Is the paint or which of them are thin? Is the watercolour decent? How’s the sketch paper? The watercolour paper?
I saw a woman leaving with them but I didn’t even think of asking her because I was only coming to look for markers and I end up asking myself, if I should try to sell an extra painting so I can buy a decent amount of things here?
From even the wood stuff, to paint on and even make nick nacks, or to make large beautiful pieces on. But I’m not going to get it ALL if dollarama is hitting everyone with shrinkflation with watery paint.
I’m still guilty of leaving with 30 dollars worth of markers, candy, and the brushes, which honestly are just fine. Better than some of the worst ones you can buy and Micheal’s for 3x the price.
EDIT: I am asking because I am only using my expensive oil based and a few acrylic paints for my selling paintings. Hobby painting needs to be cheaper.
