Got scammed while delivering orders and lost my phone. I don't know what to do anymore.
I'm a college student and recently finished my semester exams. Since I had a few days of holidays, I started working as a delivery partner in Madhapur to earn some money for my expenses.
I've only been working for 2 days. On Sunday, I started around 7 AM and worked until 6 PM. I had already completed 28 deliveries and was on what was probably my 29th order.
When I was near the customer's location, I got a call from the customer asking where I was. I told him I'd reach in 2 minutes. When I arrived, a man standing near the road said the order was his. I asked him if he was the customer and he said yes, so I believed him.
As I was handing over the order and checking things on my phone, he suddenly grabbed my phone and the order and ran away. Everything happened in a few seconds. I tried looking for him, but he disappeared.
A few minutes later, customer support called me and told me the actual customer still hadn't received the order. That's when I realized the person who took the order wasn't the real customer.
Now my delivery account has been blocked for 2 days, and I was told the cost of the missing order might be deducted from my earnings. On top of that, I lost my phone too.
I worked nearly 11 hours that day, traveled around 100 km, and completed almost 29 deliveries just to earn some money honestly. Instead, I lost both the order and my phone.
I don't know what to do now. I've already got enough problems in my life, and this hit me really hard. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What steps should I take? Any advice would help.
And please, don't cheat delivery workers. Most of us are just trying to earn an honest living.
