LEGo 2 Broken OLED Display

LEGo 2 Broken OLED Display

So, here's the story. My Legion Go 2 fell off the bed onto the tiled floor. As always, it was in its original protective case. The bed is maybe 45 cm high. I came back to the hotel and found the Legion lying on the floor. My girlfriend must have accidentally knocked it off the bed.

I think the following happened:

The Legion Go 2 fell sideways onto the left controller. This exerted pressure on the tablet's casing. As a result, the OLED display glass broke. The OLED substrate is intact. Perhaps it's a soft OLED (flexible). I strongly suspect this is the case since Samsung Display manufactures the OLED display. The Lenovo 9H protective glass is completely intact. I initially thought it was broken, but unfortunately, it was the display... barely two months old!!!

My current situation isn't exactly ideal:

I bought it from the Lenovo Store in Malaysia

Currently traveling in Asia

I live in Germany

The warranty is in Malaysia 😂

But a broken display is my own fault anyway, so no manufacturer will honor the warranty.

Maybe it'll work through my personal liability insurance. Otherwise, I'll have to hope for a goodwill gesture from Lenovo. I'm hoping the 9H protective glass is intact. There are also specialized repair shops in Hong Kong and China that focus on OLED display lamination and repairs in general. Maybe I'll check them out.

Anyone else with a defective display of any kind? It could also be from a GO 1 or GO S. How did you handle it, and what were the costs?

Adrenaline Software not available

Is the AMD Adrenaline Software working for any of you? I have never used. Have my LEGO2 since 2 Weeks and the Software show up only one time at my first Start. I’ve read through on Reddit and tried everything at this point i think. I’ve updated all available drivers from the Lenovo website. BIOS version: RRCN16WW. All Windows Updates and optional Updates. The software simply isn't showing up. Is there a specific AMD software package or Adrenaline version designed for the LEGO2? Or would it be better to wait for a patch from Microsoft? After all, they’re the ones who messed things up with an update and broke the driver. I really want to use RSR and the FPS Locker... 😪

I ran DDU:

- Disabled the internet connection

- Ran DDU to uninstall everything related to AMD

- Restarted the system

- Installed the AMD Display Driver that I had previously

downloaded from the Lenovo website

- Restarted the system (twice)

- Attempted to manually install the AMD Adrenaline

Software

However, I’m not getting any clear confirmation from the AMD software itself indicating that it was actually installed—nothing like "Add to Desktop" or "Open Now."

I got my LGO2 Z2E

During my trip to Asia, I bought a Legion Go 2 Z2E 1TB/32GB. I went to Plaza Low Yat in Kuala Lumpur, a large tech mall with a Lenovo store. There was a console on display right at the entrance. I looked at it, asked the salesperson some questions, and got a price quote: €1288 / $1508 including a controller charging connector and an original glass screen protector. Apparently, there were only two consoles left. All I had to do was top up my credit card. I went back the next day and bought one right away. It's available in Germany at the Lenovo online store for €2499. It might be even cheaper at Fortress HK and the Lenovo store in Hong Kong than here in Kuala Lumpur. But I didn't want to wait any longer... I have a 3-year factory warranty, and I purchased an additional 12 months for €28. That’s a full 4 years of warranty—and I hope I’ll never need it.

If you have any other tips for me, I would be incredibly grateful. ✅️💯
