Windshield Replacement Company using Silicone Sealant?
If this is the wrong sub to post this in, I’m sorry, just refer me where I need to post this for advice. I’m looking to seek advice on some trouble I recently had with a windshield replacement company. I recently went to get my windshield replaced (again) due to my brother’s recklessness when he was helping to fix one of my windshield wipers with my father. The technician stated they cannot replace it due to silicone I guess being placed at the bottom of the windshield. I just got this windshield replaced back in January at the same exact location/business. The first time they had no issues. The windshield hasn’t been replaced/touched by anyone else since the first replacement. I have receipts from the first replacement and receipts from anywhere I took the car thereafter (oil change). They deny previously having silicone in the first place. What exactly can I do in this case to prove I did not tamper or place any extra sealent on the windshield after the first replacement? I’m not accustomed to terminology also since I’m not in this industry, though I’m just so angry they think I’m bluffing. I really can’t pay for much more since I’m in graduate school, but they stated a technician from an auto body shop would need to sand down the silicone?
