Does steel need to be glowing hot to be easier to work?
essentially, I have a butane torch that gets hot enough to temper mild steel blue, but doesnt get hotter than that. Despite that, would it still make it easier to work than if it was cold?

1 - Sorry if this is silly, but how could I achieve a more bulbous shape? Hammering the centre into my dishing bowl doesn't seem to be that effective as it only amplifies the way its currently bending
2 - How should I approach polishing?
I will appreciate any feedback :)
As the title would imply, I'm in need of Ideas for a doming block for armoring, as the only ones I can find for purchase are sized for making jewellery. I did see someone use a steel flange as an alternative but I'm having trouble finding one < / 3
ive got something for you to look forward to this evening
So I would at some point like to forge a hounskull, but all the examples of people making the bascinet have involved welding two halves together. I have absolutely no welding experience and will unlikely be able to afford the equipment anyway, so I'm wondering if anyone knows how you'd go about making a bascinet out of a single piece of steel if possible?
edit: to clarify, i'm talking about the actual helmet itself not the visor, poor example image i know lol
Using reference from the game, I designed and printed the mask, shoulders and filter unit on the back.
