Lull periods?

Its hot--dangerously hot. Ive been under an enormous amount of stress at work, in other business, and with a sick cat that I ended up having to take to the ER twice this week. I started a new medication for Hashimotos two months ago and my levels are starting to normalize, yet I take several naps a week and feel more tired than before.

I like to get four days in at least, but lately, I've been getting like two or three or doing the bare minimum for me (like interval runs instead of long endurance runs.) I feel guilty and unworthy and heavy when I miss workouts.

Can somebody tell me A) if they get this way sometimes B) how long it lasts and C) am I going to lose fitness?

Menstrual cycle and other things?

Hi all, I am 42F, 5'6", 130 lbs. Im very active and I am mindful about what I eat. I dont drink.

Hashimoto's runs in the family and we had been monitoring my levels at the doctor. Well, this time, they were at TSh 12 and t4 0.76, my LDL was high and I have a history of high cortisol that is abe to be suppressed. Plus, my OCD/anxiety went haywire to the point of a nercous breakdown three years ago.

So, doctor prescribed levo.

I started taking 50mcg May 7, about four weeks ago. I take it at like 5 or 6 am and I dont have any coffee until 8am.

My period just came two weeks early, but I have been very regular and it's not suggested that I am in perimenopause yet. I also feel more morning dread l, probably because the levo is activating on top of the cortisol that I have more trouble flushing out.

Tl:dr: I know the thyroid is like the secretary of the entire body. Just wondering if anyone had wonky periods and increased morning anxiety when starting. Thanks!

Hashimoto's runs in my family. My doctor says he can start me on levo or recheck in 2 months. I don't have seriously debilitating symptoms at ALL. However, if taking this is inevitable, I wonder if I should just bite the bullet. I am looking for your opinions.

Some key facts:

  1. TSH is 12, t4f is 0.76 (six months ago, they were normal, so this is a significant change)

  2. Awaiting antibody results. Six months ago, they were elevated while my other labs were normal

  3. 42F, no kids, married

  4. I am 5'6 and 132 pounds. I have been on a diet and have lost five to 10 pounds although it took longer than I expected. I chalked that up to my age.

  5. I exercise a lot where I sweat and raise my heart rate for sustained periods of time.

  6. Three years ago, I had a sudden onset panic disorder/OCD take over my life. Lots of therapy and 60mg of Prozac later, I am very functional.

  7. I quit drinking alcohol 15 months ago and I don't use marijuana or any other drugs

  8. I am under stress with work and business currently. My anxiety is a little more bothersome lately, but nothing serious.

  9. I sleep pretty well most nights, with the occasional toss and turn night if I am under stress.

  10. I get extremely fatigued on weekends. I chalk that up to running for miles during the week but I can easily rest for three hours on a Saturday afternoon into dinner time given the opportunity. I am beat after work but I make myself work out.

  11. I take magnesium glycinate at night to help with anxiety.

  12. Apparently, my cortisol is very high, like someone in their 20s. However, it takes me a while to get in a good mood and get over my dread.

  13. Face is kinda puffy and pale.

  14. Hair is super thin and fragile. I chalked this up to getting my hair bleached a lot. Who knows?
