Midnight Bathroom Visit
Is this a cockroach and what should i do?
I live in an old duplex "managed" by a slumlord, the bathroom doesn't have an exhaust fan because I guess in Lancaster County Pennsylvania you can get away with just a window.
Spotted this guy in the bathroom around midnight right when I turned on the light. Thought it was a beetle bc it was so chunky, about 2 inches by 1 inch, antennas were very wobbly and it didn't move very fast, acted like if it didn't move I wouldn't see it. So heavy my handheld vacuum couldn't even pick it up after 2-3 tries, had to pull a paper under cup maneuver to move it outside.
The house is pretty old and drywall has crumbled in some places, when I brought up repairs to the landlord (which I offered to do myself) they sent a family friend, who filled 6 inch holes with Spackle that cracked then never followed up on finishing or sealing. I want to get out of here but I'm a wage worker with limited savings and copilot insists it's an oriental cocktail (not as serious as my other reasons to leave) and that I need to get a lawyer and send a letter of demand to terminate the lease since "pest presence" ties everything together.
