If you’re a parent, are your kids enjoying the Star Fox remake?

Since this remake’s biggest aim is introducing a new generation to Star Fox… I’m curious to hear how this game is going over with the younger generation. I’m not a parent, but I hope the youngsters are enjoying this game just as much as we did the 64 version.

What is Star Fox’s identity and what do you want to see in a potential sequel?

So let’s say this game does well in the sales market, and Nintendo green lights a sequel… What would the next game be like?

Would you want to stick to what works and make it another rail shooter? Or something more like Adventures (which I’m personally not a fan of). I was asking myself these questions and realized even though Star Fox’s is an old IP, it’s still trying to establish an identity in the modern gaming world.

And in my personal opinion, Star Fox has always been (and should be) space war that incorporates all sorts of different combat machinery. So in future installments, the characters themselves won’t be controllable like in Adventure. But relying on rail shooting gameplay in the modern era also leaves a lot to be desired. Which means introducing different spacecrafts and fleshing out the gameplay for each one is essential. Cause a problem most Star Fox games have is only the Arwing being fun to handle.

In the remake, they’re already putting a lot more attention into the multiplayer and online (for Nintendo standards anyways). Having different machines and vehicles be controllable (and actually fun to play) could also open up a lot when it comes to multiplayer gameplay.

What is Star Fox’s identity and place in modern gaming in your opinion? And what would you like to see in a sequel ?
