something’s off with the new clutch

I bought a new super 30 series juggernaut clutch for my go kart. Now, the go kart is about 10 mph slower than before and when i went to inspect it, the whole torque converter was boiling hot, there was black shavings coating the torque converter cover and plate (theyre most likely belt shavings) why is this (Honda gx160 motor stage 1 kit installed and governor zip tied) should I put the old clutch back on or tweak this clutch? and yes, the belt is in line with the converter so that’s not why the transmission was boiling hot. the belt also screams when it’s at a stop (old clutch didnt do that) I just need some help on what to do from here (should I put the old one back on, tweak the new one, etc)

Shredded a belt, does the drive pulley/belt need an upgrade or is it fine, how much power do you think the engine makes

I shredded a belt today. i noticed some slippage this morning but I thought It was fine. maybe it has too much power. I’m running a stage 1 Honda gx160 motor with a zip tied governor and upgraded emulsion tube along with the normal stage 1 upgrades. how much power do you think it makes, cuz I might have to upgrade the cheap amazon 30 series torque converter (8 hp max) . let me know
