1,300+ downloads and Rs. 15k revenue in 30 days: How staying stubborn on "offline-first" paid off for my solo app.
A few weeks ago, I posted about my app's revenue doubling month-over-month. Since then, the momentum has continued to compound. I’ve officially crossed 1,300+ downloads and Rs. 15k+ in revenue for Secure Card Wallet.
Building this in my late nights after a 9-5 job remains a slow, often exhausting grind. But hitting these numbers as a solo developer feels like the ultimate validation that there is a real, hungry market for privacy-first tools.
The Reality of the Last 30 Days:
Total Downloads: 1,300+
Revenue Milestone: Rs. 15k+
The Big Shift: Moving from "Is anyone even going to use this?" to "People are actually paying for local-only security."
When I started, I decided to go all-in on a zero-cloud, AES-256 encrypted vault for physical cards.
The biggest lesson so far:
Don't fear being "too niche." When you solve one specific problem perfectly, you don't need to compete with the big guys you just need to serve your niche better than they ever will.
I’m currently experimenting with ways to make the app even more personal for my power users. If you're building an indie app, what’s the one feature you were scared to build but glad you did?
