Hey r/HowToMen,
Jotter is a notes + tasks app built around one idea:
I don’t want to open a full productivity app just to remember something small.
Most notes are tiny things:
So Jotter is home-screen-first. The widget is the main experience, not an afterthought.
You can write notes, create checklists, check off tasks, set reminders, pin important items, search/sort/select quickly, and keep everything visible right on your Android home screen.
A few things it focuses on:
I’m also running a small r/HowToMen giveaway: 10 lifetime codes.
To enter, leave a comment and upvote, I’ll randomly pick 10 winners in 48 hours.
Play Store:

Also genuinely open to feedback. This app has already changed a lot based on Reddit comments, so if something feels clunky or missing, tell me.
The "System-Meeter-Bar"!
Google PlayStore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.it_huskys.smb
The “System-Meeter-Bar” is designed to offer a solution for license friendly support and analysis tools who are compact and not related to EULA’s who require licensing for commercial usage. The SMB is a system data collection tool, system overview tool, benchmark, test and system report tool all in one. You can use it for displaying an overview of your system, finding issues or testing the stability of your system via the built-in benchmark tool, no matter if it’s used on a private system or used in a commercial environment.
Key-Features of the System-Meeter Bar:
The SMB offers many useful features for support and system tests:
Data & Info
This is the main function of the SMB that shows a live overview of the system with most important data of the system, System-Core Data, CPU, RAM, Battery, Display-Data, Storage usage and Network activity.
System Monitoring
With the live monitoring of the CPU, System-Core Data, Storage-Devices and Network traffic, you can monitor the load the full system with easy activity tracking.
Benchmark & Test
The SMB comes with its own built-in benchmark tool to stress-test the system for heat or power issues, but can also score the CPU power of a system for comparison with others, or test the speed of your storage devices, next to quick-call any system/option settings you need. On Android devices you can also check the functionality of flashlight, vibration, display/screen (dead pixels) and more.
System-Shortcuts
The SMB comes with its own built-in System-Shortcut menu. that offers quick access and triggers to many Configurations, options and apps/folders/tools, that are hidden or difficult to find in the system.
Device-Tests
The SMB offers a wide range of features to test the full functionality of your android device. Screen-Color tests to test for burnins or defect pixels, vibration or you flashlight. Device fectects like these can be easily detected with the SMB.
System-Report
With this feature you can create a custom system report of the system the SMB is running on with all System-Core data, Hardware data and benchmark results, for troubleshooting and analysis.
No Ads and 100% Offline running
The SMB does not have any kind of Ads apis included and runs 100% offline. Making sure there is no online-traffic or increased system-load effecting the measurements and collected data.
Tracks your delayed tasks and tells you what you could have done with the time instead. "You coulda watched the entire Godfather trilogy. This email is still unopened."
I made this as I struggle with procrastination a lot, and had been using chatgpt before I thought I would make a full fledged app. Really looking forward to your feedback, and any advice you may have.
Hello HowToMen, this is my first time posting here.
I launched my WiFi Finder app about 2 months ago. It's a community driven app that catalogues publicly available WiFi networks + their passwords if required.
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gavin.wififinder&pcampaignid=web\_share
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/wifi-finder-password-map/id6759633926
My app isn't the only one on the market, but I think mine stands out above the rest for some of the following reasons:
- Minimal ads: No popup ads or unskippable video ads. There will never be an ad that interrupts your usage of the app or wastes your time.
- Offline Mode: Perfect for travelling, you can download all WiFi info for any city in the world. Additionally, any cached WiFi info is also usable offline.
- Speed Filter: Looking to do some work and need fast internet? Filter by speed to only show hotspots that are fast enough for you.
- Share via QR: If you want to share the WiFi network with someone who doesn't have the app, tap the QR button and they can scan it to automatically join. You can also share an image of the QR code + WiFi details to any other apps if your choice.
- Category Filter: Looking for a library? Or a cafe? Filter locations by type of establishment and find the environment you want.
- 22 Language Support: The entire app can be used in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Polish, Ukrainian, Swahili, & Greek.
- Built in Speed Test: My app features a built in speed test that utilizes cloud flares speed testing servers. These tests help the community find fast WiFi.
- And many more: Track your contributions, plentiful customization settings, favorites list, light/dark/OLED themes, KM/Miles options...
The app is fairly young, and so far I have 9,000+ WiFi hotspot entries worldwide. If you don't see any WiFi hotspots near you, let me know. Users are adding data every day, but I try to fast track it by adding lots of info myself manually.
I hope you enjoy it if you try it out. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Hey everyone! To celebrate the launch of my new app, Sol, I’m manually upgrading 30 early adopters to the full version for life.
I built Sol because keeping track of installments, subscriptions, and loans can get overwhelming quickly. I wanted a simple, all-in-one budget tool to help people visualize their financial commitments and crush their debt faster.
What Sol helps you do:
Here is how to get your account upgraded:
I’ll manually unlock the full version on your account from my end.
If Sol helps you out, leaving an honest review on the Play Store would be incredible. As an indie developer, organic word-of-mouth means everything to me instead of relying on paid ads.
Thanks so much for the support!
if you are looking for the subscription manager app hand crafted by the developer who loves making apps, i think you should definitely check the app.
recently I've given huge update added widgets, analytics & calendar.
it doesn't just follow material 3 blindly, I've tried to mix ios design language with material 3, made material Cupertino.
Especially that fading top app bar & settings screen.
Please please give me feedback, this post isn't written by AI or anything I'm a real developer who loves building apps & i want real people who respects the developer to give me feedback
Thanks DevAtrii
you can check it here:

(ios version will get widgets in 2-3 days, they are on another level)
Honest question: do you actually know how many Reels or Shorts you watched yesterday? I didn't either, until I started building Limitr.
I got tired of opening Instagram "for a second" and resurfacing 45 minutes later. So I made an app that actually does something about it.
Here's what Limitr does:
Counts every Reel, Short, and short video you watch in real time
Lets you set a daily limit (e.g. 100 videos/day)
Automatically blocks the scroll when you hit your limit — no willpower needed
Shows you detailed stats so you can actually see your habits
The difference vs. regular screen time apps? Those track time. Limitr tracks videos. There's a big difference between watching 3 long YouTube videos and doom-scrolling 80 Reels in the same amount of time.
It uses Android's Accessibility Service purely to detect and count videos — no messages read, no personal data collected, everything stays on your device.
If you've ever tried and failed to cut back on short-form video (same 🙋), give it a shot. Would love to hear what you think.

Drop a comment if you try it — feedback genuinely helps!
It focuses on advanced text effects for social posts, posters, thumbnails, and creative photo edits. You can place text behind people or objects, but also create flat text effects, stretched text, layered typography, interlace text, perspective-style designs, and realistic depth text edits.
Main features:
I made this for users who want more creative photo text edits than basic text-on-photo apps.
Would love honest feedback from Android editing and customization users.
It is the most modern fdroid client, its ui and ux is peak
Can we file a petition or something against this?? The only reason I preferred Ios against Android is going down😭.
Now we will be stuck with apps full of ads. These open source apps were the best 😭
Edit: There was indeed a petition link for this
Here's the main link thanks to that kind stranger in the comment

We all have that shelf in our head. The book you stopped reading. The show you quit halfway. The course, hobby, or goal you quietly forgot. Most apps yell at you to finish everything. Unfinished does something different. You add your unfinished things, note where you left off, feel the emotional weight they carry, then choose: resume, restart, release with a calming ceremony, or keep it undecided.
No accounts, no cloud, no pressure. Just a private place to sort through your unfinished stuff and feel a little lighter. Finishing is not the only form of progress. Sometimes progress means choosing what to release. The app is called [Unfinished: Goal Tracker](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mohamedsalam.unfinished&hl=en-US). Available on Android 🤍
Im thinking of asking this cute girl out, should i do it? We talk and stuff all the time so its not like we barely know each other.
Most free budget apps are just data-harvesting machines.
Vento is the opposite: your data stays on your device, uses 256-bit encryption, and doesn't require an account.
It handles transactions, budgets, goals, and recurring bills entirely offline.
If you're someone who values privacy over the convenience of automatic bank syncing, I'd love for you to try it out. What features are you missing in current privacy-focused tools?
Thanks for all the peeps here who helped shape the app.

Giving away lifetime premium to first 100.
I’m 19 and recently released my first Android app called “Minimal Lift.”
I originally made it for myself because most workout apps I tried felt way too overwhelming. A lot of them are packed with subscriptions, social features, ads, AI stuff, and screens I never actually used when training.
I just wanted something simple where I could:
So I started building my own version with a more minimal approach.
I’m still learning app development, so the app definitely isn’t perfect yet, but it’s something I’ve genuinely spent a lot of time improving and polishing. I’d honestly appreciate real feedback from people who actually lift or track their workouts regularly.
The app is called “Minimal Lift”. I attached some screenshots in this post if anyone wants to check it out.

MoneySplit is a private, offline expense tracker built for real daily life with support for almost all currencies in the world.
Edit 1: 60% off in title is typo it should be upto 75% based on different currency pricing. Apologies for this oversight.
Edit 2: if app hangs in Upgrade to pro screen, please force close and start the app. I am patching this issue. Apologies
Why MoneySplit stands out
Privacy-first by default: your financial records stay on your device unless you choose backup options.
Offline-first design: core tracking, review, and planning features work even without internet.
No forced sign-up wall for basic use.
Built for practical speed, not clutter.
Key Features:
The Promo: I despise the "renting software" trend, so the app has a strict one-time purchase model. Right now, I'm running upto 75**% OFF (varies by country as taxes are different in different countries) sale on both the Pro and Pro Plus lifetime plans**. To avail discount, check the upgrade page.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a huge update for Vyxel Apps, the open-source Android app store powered by GitHub releases.
This update focuses heavily on UI polish, customization, performance, and app discovery.
What’s new in this update:
• Material 3 Expressive redesign
• Faster backend/server response
• Smoother animations & scrolling
• Advanced filters and category search
• Expanded theme engine & AMOLED themes
• More fonts support
• Multi-language support improvements
• In-app translation for app descriptions
• Better GitHub, GitLab & F-Droid browsing
The goal is to make Vyxel Apps feel modern, fluid, and highly customizable while staying lightweight and privacy-friendly.
Still:
✅ No ads
✅ No tracking
✅ Fully open source
Would love feedback and suggestions ❤️
Hello im resurrectdev, and in my journey to switching to fully FOSS I was surprised that there were no good FOSS sobriety apps...
I mean the concept is simple enough just make it so you can record relapses and see the time since your last relapse. But instead of agonizing over nobody making such a app I decided to do it myself. I had already had experience with coding and so over the past couple months Ive worked rigorously to present Grove.
The concept is really simple and quite lovely actually, to show the passing of time I stuck to a tree theme where the longer you go "Clean" the bigger and fuller your tree grows. there are also a few qol features like different grids to see your trees in a grid or list for example, also some themes and ways to explain why you relpased.
Anyways I thought I would share this app because I believe in today's world we all suffer from a bad habit or 2 and being able to visualize that into a concept helped me out so I hope it helps you 2 :)
forgot the link lol https://github.com/resurrectdev1/Grove
