[Promo] Giveaway for the pro version of an app that hides what you typed

Hey everyone!

My app was just released on the Play Store, and I’d love to hear what you think :) The idea is that I’m quite bothered when someone sitting next to me on the bus or train can see what I’m typing. It’s not like I’m writing anything particularly secret... but I still don’t like the fact that they can potentially see it.

That’s why I created ShadeType. When the keyboard opens, you can automatically apply a veil over the screen that hides the rest of the content. You can also set it up so that the veil automatically appears in specific apps.

The app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polyhistor.shadetype

Since the app is still new, I’d like to give away 20 promo codes for the Pro version so you can test it out. Comment below if you’d like one, and I’ll send you a code.

Thanks in advance to everyone who gives it a try!

The app itself is free, with some additional features available in the Pro version.

One feature I’m planning to add this week is the ability to use your own image as the veil.

[Promo] Silkweaver, you play the spider, and you spin the web yourself, strand by strand

You drag a line between two branches and she runs it and lays the silk behind her. Where two strands cross you get a junction you can build off later, so the web is whatever you actually made rather than something you picked from a menu.

Then things fly into it and the physics decides what holds. A dragonfly at full speed tears through sticky silk and bounces off elastic. Wasps don't stick at all, they cut. A run is one day: nine waves, sunrise through to full dark.

Almost all of it is drawn in code rather than from image files, which is why the silk

stretches like silk.

I really appreciate if you give it a go and let me know how it is:)

I made a word game where you shoot the letters out of the sky with a bow

Solo dev, been at this one for 2 months on evenings and weekends.

It's a word game but you play it with a bow. Letters drift across the sky

on balloons, you shoot them down, and they drop into the row at the bottom.

Spell something and it puts seconds back on the clock.

The bit I'm actually happy with is what happens when you make a word. You can

bank the time right away, or turn it down and keep shooting to grow the word

longer. Longer words pay way more. In the clip I turn down 14 seconds with 6

left on the clock, which is a terrible idea, and I do it every single time.

Free on Google Play, Android only so far. There's one paid thing in it that

removes the ads, and I've got promo codes for it, so if you try it and want

one just comment and I'll send it over.

I'd rather hear what's annoying about it than what's good. :) First impressions

are the one thing I can't get back.

Word Archer -

Hey all good people of this community! :)

I ve been working on this game for a couple of months now and i finally released it on Android. I would love to have your feedback as it's still early and I'm planning to add a bunch more stuff in it.

You can play it offline too and it also has got a few ads (not a lot I promise) but with premium you can remove those too. So if you like the game just comment and I will send you code to unlock premium.

You can download it from here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polyhistor.wordarcher

iOS version is coming soon :)

Thanks for reading:)

[Promo] I tried a different approach to doomscrolling

I've never really liked app blockers, I'd install one, get annoyed the first time it locked me out when I actually wanted to check something, then turn it off a few days later.

So I started wondering if the problem wasn't using social media, but how effortless it is to just... keep going.

I ended up making an Android app called Nudge.

Instead of timers or popups, it slowly adds a bit of resistance while you're scrolling. At first everything feels normal, but after a while you occasionally have to pull a little further to keep scrolling. If you stop to actually read something, it eases off again.

That's basically the whole idea. It's trying to interrupt autopilot without taking your phone away from you.

I'm curious whether this sounds useful or just annoying.

Would something subtle like this work better for you than a hard time limit, or do you think you'd get used to it after a few days?

I made a free geography game where you guess countries from real photos

Hey! I’ve been working on a free geography game called Guess the Country.

You identify countries using real photos, landmarks and visual clues. There are also daily challenges with flags, currencies, languages and trivia. Correct answers earn passport stamps, fill your world map and move you up the leaderboards.

It’s free on Android. I’d really appreciate any feedback, especially on the difficulty and photo selection.

Closer - safety check-ins without location tracking

Idea is simple. You and someone you trust set a check-in schedule. When it’s time, they unlock with a PIN and tap a shared confirmation number. If they miss it or tap need help, you get notified.

No GPS or map of their day.

I made it because I wanted that with my girlfriend without doing the whole location sharing thing.

It’s on Google Play. Free tier is once a day / one person. Plus unlocks more.

For now you can also grab free lifetime Plus on the website if you want to try the full thing: https://www.closer-family-safety.com

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polyhistor.closer

Curious what you think, especially if you’ve used Life360-type apps and hated the tracking.

I built a family check-in app that doesn't use GPS. Looking for feedback

Hey,

I published an Android app called Closer and wanted some honest feedback from people here.I basically got tired of "family safety" apps that are just location tracking. I don't want a map of where someone is. I just want to know they're okay.

Closer works like this:

-You invite someone and share a private confirmation number.

-You send a check-in, either now or on a schedule.

They confirm by tapping that number.

-f they miss it, get it wrong, or say they're not okay, you get an alert and can call or text them

No GPS or live tracking. Just check-ins with people you trust.

Free version is 1 person and simple once-a-day schedules. There's an optional Plus upgrade if you need more.

Play Store:

Happy to answer questions.

[Promo] I didn’t want to track my girlfriend. I just wanted to know she’s okay.

I’ve never been into location sharing. Felt weird, controlling, and honestly neither of us wanted that.

But there were nights where she’d be out late, or commuting, or just “heading home,” and I’d get that stupid anxious loop, not because I don’t trust her, just because life is unpredictable. Texting “you home?” every time also felt lame.

So I built a small app for us (and ended up turning it into something other people can use too).

It’s called Closer. No live tracking. No map stalking. Just:

  • you pick a person you trust
  • you share a simple confirmation number with them
  • when you send a check-in, they tap that number to say “I’m okay”
  • if they don’t confirm, you get notified
  • there’s also an “I need help” option

That’s basically it. More like “ping me if you’re safe” than “I can see where you are.”

We’re using it between us now, and it feels way less invasive than Life360-type stuff. Still early, and I’m sure it’s rough around the edges, but if anyone else has this same “I don’t want to track you, I just want peace of mind” problem, I’d love feedback.

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polyhistor.closer

Happy to answer questions / roast my UX.

[Promo] I kept forgetting if I already took my meds so I built a reminder app that makes you hold to confirm

I have this dumb loop where I take my meds (or lock the door, or whatever) and then 20 minutes later I’m standing there like… did I actually do that or did I just think about doing it?

Normal reminder apps didn’t help much. They remind you to start. Then you tap a checkbox and move on. Later your brain still has no idea.

So I made something small for myself called Proofly.

Basic idea:

  • you get a reminder
  • when you’re done, you hold to confirm (not just tap)
  • it saves a timestamped log

So when the doubt hits, you open the log and check. No guessing.

It’s intentionally boring. No streaks, no points, no feed, none of that. Just reminders + confirmation + history.

Also works for dumb stuff that shouldn’t be hard but somehow is, locking the door, supplements, feeding the cat, turning the stove off, etc.

It’s on Android if anyone wants to try it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polyhistor.proofly

Curious if this is just my brain or if other people have the same “did I already do it” problem. Also open to feedback, still early.

Meccha Chameleon inspired me to make a mobile hide-and-seek game

Meccha Chameleon gave me the idea, but I wanted to make it something you could play on your phone as well.

In Pic-Asso, you hide by blending a character into a real photo and you got to seek for others. there are also live matches where you can play against other real-time.

Let me know what you think:)

Thanks everyone! Pic-Asso is now free to play

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who checked out Pic-Asso and left feedback, i really appreciate it.

A lot of people said they'd be much more likely to try it if it was free, and honestly you convinced me 😄

So i changed it. The game is now free to play with a few ads instead of an upfront price.

If you skipped it before because you didn't want to pay without trying it first, now's your chance.

Thanks again for all the comments and suggestions, i'm still working on the game and reading everything you guys post!

Meccha Chameleon inspired me to make my own game

Hey everyone!

I'm a big fan of Meccha Chameleon, and it inspired me to make a small mobile game called Pic-Asso.

The idea is pretty simple:

  • One player hides by blending a silhouette into a real photo using sampled colors.
  • Other players join and try to find it before they run out of time and guesses.

It's basically a hide-and-seek game built around the same camouflage concept that made Meccha Chameleon so much fun.

It's finally available on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polyhistor.picasso

I'd love to hear what other Meccha Chameleon fans think. 🙂

Also, I have a bunch of promo codes, so if you'd like to try it without buying it, just leave a comment and I'll DM you one until I run out.
