I think my spider is about to be mom, but i ain't sure, am i cooked?
It's been fun watching them float along the invisible bridge lines all around my desk. They're so cute, just little pin sized bros watching me play video games.
Happy to hang with this dude for a bit
little fella was super chill and nice, i love when spiders let me hold them
Found this fancy little gray wall jumping spider who was nice enough to let me get a couple great pics (:
I have identified it as Phidippus audax/bold jumper.
I was going to put it outside in one of my planters, but I see it’s going to get as low as 47 tonight. Should I keep it in?
For now, it’s placed in my not very healthy philodendron.
If it’s better to keep it inside, I’d like to order a small enclosure for it to live in (if it wants to).
What do you guys think? 🤗
I found this beauty inside a garage at a vancant house. I relocated it outside to a safer location.
She wasnt to happy when I pulled out ny phone and started taking pictures.
Hi, I have a lovely black widow that my boyfriend and I relocated from the top of my bathroom door into a terrarium and made her a little habitat and feed her flies and crickets. She got quite plump and now seems to be making an egg sac. I've never really kept a spider as a pet before and I mostly did this so she could live in a location that was safe for both her and us. But I have no idea what to do with her babies.
I don't like killing anything I don't have to but I am also not prepared to care for hundreds of venemous spiders. Any suggestions on what to do with them aside from killing them?
If I just release them into my yard, am I setting myself or my cats up for getting accidentally bitten or will they find places to hide without getting bothered by us? My cats are mostly inside but they do go into my back yard frequently.
It was moving so fast that my phone couldn't focus 😅
Edit: I took this little girl outside, and as I was carrying her, she flew away on a web because it was very windy. I hope she's going to do okay.
yepp, it's been 3 years since I rarely take photos of spideys nowadays (bc of being busy in college) ✌🏻
This is my dark fishing spider, Dolly. Her name comes from her scientific name, Dolomedes tenebrosus. I found her in my basement last August and she’s been my buddy ever since! She made an egg sac in February that she fervently protected for 2 months until I could finally snatch it from her. The eggs were inert and she was refusing food, holding the egg in her jaws around the clock.
