We got our jumping spider two months ago for my husband’s birthday. Spidey was her name! The cutest! We loved her. Admired her all the time and watched her molt and grow. She was a tiny little baby when we got her and we re-homed her twice. A smaller enclosure at first and a bigger enclosure later (a month ago) to make sure she got all the space she needed. She had some leaf litter in there and some tiny springtails in the soil. We always made sure to feed her fruitflies when she looked hungry (we used the spider feeding chart) and the temperature has always been between 21-25°C (depending on outside temperature), and we misted the enclosure, on the soil (never onto her or the twigs close to her), twice a day with a few sprays. She molted two times since we got her, and she seemed completely fine after her molt. We checked on her during her molt by turning the enclosure, but we didn’t open it or touch her (did we do something wrong??)We waited a couple of days after every molt before we would feed her as we are aware of how vulnerable they are during these conditions.
Three days ago she was waving at us, all happy and healthy from what we could tell. We put a couple of fruitflies in her enclosure so she could hunt and eat when she wanted as she looked hungry. Today my husband said “I think spidey is dead” and indeed she was..god this stings. She was so cute.
She was just hanging there, not moving. I don’t know what happened..we are so incredibly sad.

If any of you have any advice, ideas on what happened, or at least any clues, we’d truly appreciate it. I will attach a few photos I just took of her. Also, please be kind..we are super sad😞💔

Hi there! I’ve never had a chameleon before, but I dealt with a few in the reptile shop I’m volunteering in. We also got a bearded dragon and spiders, so I’m not completely new to the reptile world. This pretty boy is a rescue, completely healthy but neglected by the previous owners who have no time for him.
I’m gonna get the tank, UVB, heat lamp etc etc with him together for free, but I wanna give him everything he needs to thrive and maybe, with a lot of luck and patience, get him to trust humans again.
I don’t know what breed he is, and it’s also unclear how old he is, how would you guys make him thrive as much as possible? And what about feeding? How many times a week, and how many locusts/worms,roaches per feeding? What else should I consider/be careful with?
Please help this little guy! He deserves a second chance and I wanna do what I can to make it possible💙

Hii! My husband and I are thinking about getting a Tegu (long term, once we move back to the country side) and are thinking about the best possible setup. Keeping in mind this is still 3-4 years away but we are brainstorming and thinking about how we can set up all our reptiles in our future house.
We currently have a bearded dragon, chameleon, crested gecko, jumping spider, Omani spiny-tailed lizard and a leopard gecko. We are well experienced with reptiles and animals in general as I grew up on a sled dog farm and my husband’s parents are farmers.
The plan is to convert one of the front rooms to a reptile room for the “warmer” reptiles and one office for the “cooler” reptiles. Our Tegu would probably become our little puppy and roam around freely (unless our other reptiles have their roaming time right now obviously) but we are quite unsure about how to set up a “tank” for the tegu. Would you guys recommend tents? Grow houses? I don’t know!!! Please help😂

Today my mother made me work. Little did she know that I took a massive bank-loan to buy myself all the mealworms and Dubai roaches I could find. I also sold her flat to buy me a bigger cave and a flight to Australia. Rex is out! No more slavery!😎

For context- he wasn’t stressed out or anything, he just happened to yawn when I took a photo of him😂
His beard is always slightly black and has always been😊

Today our little Rex climbed on my hand to „explore and cuddle“..well, apparently I misinterpreted the situation 😂😂😂

We thought it would be genius to use the roof of his cave as a water bowl for him, well…Rex had different plans😂
He’s chilling there every day and he seems to have a great time😂

After overthinking his behaviour massively and being enormously supported here we got him another hide and we will build a DIY climbing area in one corner so he has plenty of opportunities to climb!
He’s such a silly goose. Definitely puts a smile on my face every time I look at him!

I’m still not handling him much as he’s only been here for five days now. I put my hand in the enclosure a few times a day and he doesn’t seem bothered, I also pat him sometimes which he tolerates but I don’t wanna overdo it. He eats well, pooped for the first time yesterday and is lazy as hell..but climbing is something he really enjoys, for two minutes a day😂😂

Why does my growlithe look so funny? I noticed some of my Pokémon look different compared to their “normal” version, how many different versions are there of all Pokémon? And how luck based is it? Still trying to learn and understand everything😬🙈

So, we got a Beardie three days ago and obviously we did our research etc. it’s our first reptile and I think we are massively overthinking stuff, but we are also so worried he isn’t doing good or doesn’t like it here.
I know beardies get super stressed when relocated, but he’s basically not moving at all during the day and only moves for about five minutes when his basking light goes off. He also stalks us all day long and doesn’t take his eyes off of us- which is fine, I’m just overthinking it!

Today he started climbing up the backdrop all the way to the top and started scratching the wall, we are now wondering if he’s trying to hide from us or just likes climbing? We took him down as we were scared that he’s gonna fall and hurt himself, but now I’m also worried that he was having fun and I’m the bad mom who didn’t allow him to have fun!😂
