Uh, what?
I was the lucky recipient of 100 dead Dubias today. So I popped over to the store, only to be greeted by this lovely sign. Is this real? Do we just… collectively run out of crickets sometimes?
Edit: this is in USA, northeast

Hi! About a month ago today, I bought a red monster hypo bearded dragon from a local pet store near me. The owner of the store told me there’s a 72hr policy on pets where they can exchange/refund if they pass away. He sold me the beardie then advised me to get some dubias to put some weight on him since he was pretty skinny. (He was very small, about 2inches long and you could see his hip bones) At the time I chalked it up to him just not getting enough food since he was being housed with other baby beardies.
Brought him home, he’s been eating and pooping fine but hadn’t put on any weight. He also had stuck shed which I’d been trying to soak off since the day I got him (not sure if that’s pertinent). His poops were pretty much normal with a slight orangish tint in the urate. Overall low energy but had random bouts of energy. Came home today and he was dead:(
My husbandry:
30 gallon tank for now, was planning on switching him to a 120 when he grew a bit more.
Hot side 100-105 F with a ceramic bulb at night and fluorescent during the day.
Cool side about 80-90 degrees
Fed calcium with no Vit D dusted dubias extra small w/ chopped veggies from the reptile shop.
Tank floor was paper towels (temp till he got bigger to prevent impaction).
Overall, with how he presented I think he might’ve had some sort of parasite/disease and I feel like the shop knew since they commented on how skinny he was. Called and told them that he passed and they told me it’s out of the 72hr window and they can’t do much but that they are getting new red monster beardies on Monday and they can maybe “cut me a deal”… what should I do? I’m really sad and keep blaming myself and I’m also upset that after spending a lot of money and that beardie, they told me they can “cut me a deal” to buy a new one from them…
Found the most amazing beardie clothing creator on here! She paid attention to detail down to a T when designing her beardie clothes. Dune is super cute and comfy in them! Bigger belly for pancaking, large armholes for mobility and very soft nice material! She’s got hoodies that are just absolutely adorable as well. Super well handmade beardie clothes. I wanted to come on here and praise her and show you guys how cute dune is!
If you want the link to her Facebook sale page let me know and I’ll link it for you under your comment!

Hey this is Arthur! I got him from pet smart last month. It’s been a learning shock and I’ve had to spend way more money than I thought these guys needed but he deserves it and I’m glad he’s with me :) any tips for first time owner? Also, anyone what his color style is ?
Picked this guy up this morning about 1030 and he was in his enclosure by about 11 or so. I did check to make sure he is alive and he doesn’t seem to be in distress, but I have left him in the bag for him to come out on his own. It’s been a few hours so I’m just double checking that I make sure I’m doing things correctly by just letting him hang out and come out when he wants.
Reported at 3:50 at night, i did not put that cricket there i swear to god i dont why that cricket is there. Or what it wants.
@rayqueen22 on tik tok is posting very dangerous videos of her bearded dragon. Please report this account if you can.
She brings her bearded dragon to a lake/spring and the bearded dragon will just sink to the bottom because of cold shock and just LAY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SPRING for 1-2minutes before its adrenaline finally kicks in and it wakes back up and comes up to surface.
She is repeatedly doing this with her beardie and is not listening to any of the comments telling her that his body is actually shutting down, that’s why he’s sinking.
She has stated in comments that her bearded dragon has been under the water for as long as 5 minutes before resurfacing. This is NOT ok. Please report this account so it gets taken down. This is abuse.
She’s fed fruit very rarely (once a month at most) and absolutely loves blueberries!
She was a good girl while I was gone (unlike my leopard geckos, who’d kicked dirt into their water dishes).

May your dubia always be crunchy, and your worms always be juicy. May you be fearless in battle, and dominate all your enemies, real and imagined.
This is for a friend they Got him about a week ago! He is from an awful place they’re not at fault of his condition and are trying the absolute best they can 🧡
he has a vet appointment booked next week, he got dumped on me very very last minute from an awful environment with no adequate care, Our main focus is getting him to eat and to gain more movement back in his back legs - he has improved in all areas already (he is not paralysed) however I have a feeling he has mites because of these reddish/orange marks all over him. Can’t see mites or anything coming off him when he’s bathed. He gets bathed and often with diluted betadine, he’s got the correct uvb, temps, humidity and calcium’s/vitamins now as well. Thank you!
Shame him 😭
My handsome man best boy is shedding and has figured out that if he shoves himself into this crack in his fake rock background he can do a little shimmy and scratch everything everywhere all at once. It's very cute.

I’m setting up my first bearded dragon enclosure and I’m having trouble getting the basking spot hot enough.
In the picture, I have the basking rock sitting on on one bricks and it was at 79°f. later i added two more bricks, so there were three bricks supporting the rock, but I’m still only getting around 82°F on the basking surface.
The rock is about 12 inches away from the heat lamp, which I thought was the safest distance. I’m wondering if the problem is the the rock itself, or possibly the heat lamp/fixture.
I’m using a 100W Repti Basking Spot Lamp with a deep-dome heat lamp fixture.
Does anyone have experience with this setup or know what I should change to get the basking surface closer to the proper temperature? I want to make sure I get the enclosure set up correctly before putting my bearded dragon in it.
