Hi! I got this guy a few days ago and he is looking a bit chubby to me, this is my first time owning beardies and this guy in particular is giving me trouble with eating his greens, mostly preferring crickets or BSF larva. Ive gotten him to eat a piece of carrot and some fruit (very sparingly, just to see what he will eat overall) but not a single leafy green. Any advice is appreciated!

The bottom is doing great with decent roots already established in the soil, however after a thin part its much less plump and appears to be trying to grow roots of its own.

Should I chop it off and allow it to grow on its own?
