Any reason she just stares at the wall?

She just stares for ages. She hasn’t moved from her stick for forever.

Also sorry about the set up/gradient. One of her bulbs went out and we had to deep clean her tank for coccidia. We haven’t gotten her new decorations yet.

Is there any actual use for reptile carpet?

We have an adult bearded dragon. We bought a small patch of reptile carpet without realizing it could harbor bacteria.

I figured I’d ask if anyone else found a good purpose for it before I threw it away.

We have a roach farm too, if it has any applications there.

Bad husbandry or fear?

My girl prefers her cave, and won’t leave unless offered food.

Today she started chomping at my fingers when I fed her in her cave- no black beard, but some puffing.

We have a massive uvb light, and I’ve seen a lot of variation on how to set up the lights for these guys. I’m worried the excessive ubv is causing her to hide. Alternatively she could just be terrified of us.

How’s my set up? What should I change?

Likes the gamer cave a little too much

She’s fallen into a routine where she will hide for 3 days, come out for a day or two to eat, poop, and bask, then return to her hide.

Her basking spot is 100°, cool side 70°

We offer her daily greens with calcium no D3. She chooses to eat that maybe 3 times a week. Roaches twice a week with D3 calcium.

Her previous owners had her on a diet of super worms, fruit, and collard greens. I don’t know that they gave her calcium routinely.

She was shedding but I think she’s done.

Should I be worried about this behavior or does she just really like her gamer cave?

Same meals every day

My grandmother has dementia. My mom insists she eats the same 2-3 meals every day to keep her on a routine. This is not always convenient, and I’m wondering if it’s hurting more than it’s helping.

Cereal and coffee in the morning, an apple or protein shake for lunch, dinner is our choice.

My grandma is thin and nearly diabetic. I want her to have more protein in her diet and less sugar, as I’ve noticed it improves her mental state.

Is there any merit to keeping her on a routine like this?

Edit: my nan can’t taste or smell. Not sure if that changes things
