Electrician from Ontario, Canada. Looking for advice…

Hello everyone, I hope this isn’t the wrong sub but I tried asking appropriate electrician subs and nobody seems to have any advice for me so far.

I’m a 22 year old, third year electrical apprentice from Ontario, Canada. Meaning I am a construction worker, so again I hope I’m not in the wrong sub for this so please just delete this post if I am lol.

I currently work at a company that does residential builds. I have a little bit of experience in highrise condos, but most of my apprenticeship I have spent building custom homes and new build subdivisions. Like many people, climate change has been absolutely destroying my mental health in recent years. Im at the point now where I have no motivation to do anything anymore, I find it very hard to care about most things I once was passionate about. This includes my work. I remember graduating high school and being so excited to start this career and do something meaningful with my life, and now I just contribute to suburban sprawl, and one of the most wasteful industries in the world.

I can go on and on about it but I’ll spare you all. I’m just looking for advice from anyone in my area who might know something about this they could tell me, like if what I’m looking for is even possible right now, in terms of my local job market and what to look for specifically. I want to branch off into more specialized careers where I’m building stuff that’s making a positive impact, and so I can leave the destructive one I currently work in. Any help is appreciated thank you!

Alternatives I can use for the stock intake hose?

Hey everyone, when I first bought this car at 18 I just like a lot of other people wanted a cold air intake. What I actually bought was a short ram and I’m so sick of cleaning the filters, it never works properly, and I can tell it’s fucking up my fuel efficiency and air flow so I went to go rip it out one day when I was sick of it but I couldn’t find my stock hose. I have the original housing unit and filter but I have no idea where I put the hose, I looked everywhere and have come to the conclusion I probably threw it out.

I’m looking for a replacement but everywhere I look online it’s like over $100 CAD which is so weird because most other cars including the first gen tC you can find just the hose for $20.

This is probably a shot in the dark just wondering if anyone has any experience with this? Is there maybe any other hose that will work the same like the first gen tC or the camry? Or is there a universal one I don’t know about that’ll work?

Not sure if this is the right sub but I need help! Last year my dad and I built a low budget pergola, I say that because we did all the work ourselves, and I just tried to use as many things as I could get for free and it came out pretty good! Nothing I’d showcase like a work of art but I’m proud of it. That being said now that winters over and the snows gone I’m trying to clean up the odds and ends I didn’t get to last year. One of those things is the posts. I don’t love how they look to be honest, I messed up by getting 10 foot instead of 8 foot so it kind of looks long and lanky.

My first and only idea was to use natural stone, I took an inspiration pic at work, where I got the bricks for free, it’s in the third slide. I have a buddy that does interlock for a living and he told me he would help me out but it would be difficult to do and I’m starting to think it’s more trouble than it’s worth and looking for alternatives to dress the posts! Any suggestions are appreciated!
