[discuss] Encounty: open-source encounter tracker with auto-detection and OBS overlays

I built Encounty, a free and open-source (AGPLv3) encounter tracker for shiny hunting.

Encounty captures your game screen, window, or camera feed directly and runs GPU-accelerated template matching to detect encounters automatically, without any macros or game input, it only counts. It supports odds and methods for every mainline game from Generation 1 through Generation 9, and you can run unlimited hunts in parallel. It also includes a drag-and-drop OBS overlay editor with live preview, so your stream can show real-time hunt stats. Manual hotkey tracking is available as a fallback if auto-detection isn't feasible for your setup.

There is a German YouTube video showing the tool in action (with auto-generated English captions available), though it shows an older build so some things have changed since then: https://youtu.be/T8l35SMnrlg

Encounty was built with the help of LLM coding assistants, this is disclosed in the repository. Feedback and contributions are very welcome.
