2026 Cadillac Escalade Sport - 300 miles - Engine Knocking - 8 Lifters being replaced
I bought a brand new 2026 Escalade Sport about 3 weeks ago. Ever since, it's been a complete headache. The rear and front bumper both became misaligned within the first week of driving, which I was told "is very common" and is under warranty. I scheduled an appointment at my local Cadillac dealer (not the same dealer I bought the vehicle from), but then the engine problem began. I remote started the car from inside my house, walked outside and heard the engine making a very light knocking/ticking sort of sound. After a few seconds it seems to have subsided, and I started driving. Not less than 30 seconds later the engine light began flashing and more knocking sounds from the engine. I immediately drove it to the dealer. This was 5 days ago. Since then, they discovered it was "missing on bank 4 and that a lifter might not be holding pressure". Then a second update, "replacing 8 lifters, gaskets, bolts, guides, etc". I am already super upset not having my vehicle, and I am worried I will have issues in the future. I asked the GM (who has refused to speak to me on the phone) if they can give me a replacement or significant compensation. This obviously affects the value of the car and I am nervous about driving it past the warranty date now. Does anyone have any recommendations here? I live in Florida, the lemon law is 30 days in the shop in 24 months or 3 attempts at fixing the same issue. I have the option to take them to arbitration if they won't make some sort of offer.
