Buy?

Buy?

How reliable is the 2015 Cadillac CTS 2.0? I was thinking of getting it, as I need a car and would prefer something fairly reliable. I really like everything about the car, even though it's a V4 with 272HP.. but that's okay because I don't need to be in a rush anywhere. This car has 113k miles on it too.

I will be financing it, so I will be paying around 12k after everything. Is it worth it? Should I go for it? There may be a potential lein on the title.. should I just try to talk the price down?

My 2024 CT5 550T

My summer and winter rims. Ironically I’ve got my Summers on in the winter shot, and the Winters on in the shot without snow. Which rims suit it better?

Getting fed up with paying for SiriusXM. Signed up after free trial because I was going on road trip for radio access and thought it would help me locate charge stations (not much help). Don’t need it for Super cruise, I use my phone for directions and internet. Looking for insight/tips re if you use Super Cruise & should I keep it? I pay for On⭐️, do I need Sirius to connect to On⭐️?

1987 Cadillac AC Woes

Hey folks, I have a 1987 Cadillac Seville and I am having AC woes.

Got a warning that said “low refrigerant, compressor off”. So I took it to the shop to get it switched over to R134A, they made the swap, and recharged the refrigerant.

They then shared that the compressor still wouldn’t cycle on. They shared that the condenser fan motor was shot, and the fan control module was shot too.

So I installed a new control unit and condenser fan myself, and after I disconnected and reconnected the battery…viola, blowing ice cold air!

However…after 10 minutes of driving(blowing ice cold the whole time), the same message pops up “low refrigerant, compressor off”.

I can disconnect the battery and reconnect it, and the cycle repeats…super cold for 10-15 minutes, then the same error message.

Any thoughts?

XLR - To buy? Or not to buy?

PFA: I am concerned about general reliability and parts replacement. If I go for a 2006 or later, what kind of parts availability is there? Can I use Chevy parts in some cases? Would like to buy one because I like the style and the C6 chassis, but have some concerns.

Any years to avoid? Like 2004? or 2005?

2023 Escalade ESV 6.2L Engine Seized After Rotating Squeaking Noise

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone else with a 2021–2024 Escalade/Escalade ESV with the 6.2L L87 engine.

I bought a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV not even two months ago. Before my ownership, the oil change prevention/update and all recalls had already been completed, including the L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion recall. I had no issues leading up to this. Currently sitting at 53,000 miles.

While driving about 45 mph, I started hearing a rotating squeak/chirp noise. At first it almost sounded like it could have been coming from the wheel area, but it may have been from the engine bay. There was no smoke, no burning smell, and no obvious warning beforehand.
Shortly after the noise started, the vehicle would not accelerate. I was on the highway, pulled over, and the dash told me to restart the vehicle. Once I stopped, the vehicle would not restart and also would not shift into neutral because of the electronic shifter.

My VIN showed the recall itself had been completed, but it still had Special Coverage N252494003 active. The dealer has now confirmed the engine seized, and GM is replacing the motor. It is currently at the dealer while I wait for an update on when they can get the new motor.

I’m honestly really disappointed. I came from a BMW X5 that I loved, but we needed a bigger vehicle for our family. I’ve actually been enjoying the features of the Cadillac, and it had been a smooth transition from the BMW until this happened.

I’m posting the video/audio because the sound may be helpful for others to compare. Before this happened, I found another Reddit video that sounded very similar, and that person said theirs ended up being a bearing failure. That helped me connect some dots.

I’m hoping the replacement goes smoothly and that once the new motor is in, I won’t have to worry about this issue again.

Escalade V showing 2WD

Took my Escalade V in for AC repair. Get it back and it’s showing 2WD on the cluster as seen in photo. I’ve never had this show up before, vehicle has 82k miles. Going to the dealer to see what they say tomorrow. But anyone come across this? Or is this possibly a computer issue? I tried cycling through sport modes and V mode with no success to changing that

The future of Alpha 2 at LGR: Visualizing the next generation of Cadillac RWD Sedans (Concept Render)

Hello Cadillac enthusiasts,

There’s been a lot of talk recently about the Lansing Grand River (LGR) plant gearing up to continue producing RWD sedans on the updated Alpha 2 platform. Knowing that Cadillac is going to be a huge part of this (essentially the spiritual successor or heavy update to the CT5), I wanted to visualize the future.

I put together a concept render (see attached image) of how the next Alpha-based Cadillac sedan might look, blending the current sharp design language with some futuristic, elegant proportions.

The Alpha platform has given us some of the best-handling luxury sedans in the world, and it's great news that GM isn't abandoning RWD internal combustion/hybrid sedans entirely just yet.

What do you all think?

  • Should Cadillac's next RWD sedan lean into an even more aggressive, track-focused look (V-Series style), or return to ultra-luxurious, traditional elegance?
  • How long do you think Cadillac will keep producing ICE Alpha platform cars alongside the IQ EV lineup?

Front license plate options for a 2016 CT6 Premium Luxury.

I live in a state that requires a front plate and I'm trying to figure out the best option that might not involve drilling into the bumper besides the tow hook brackets which IMO ruin the front end. I have the mesh grille. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm quickly running out of "new purchase" grace and I'm afraid I'm going to start getting pulled over soon.
