2026 Atlas owners (especially Canada): Is my experience normal, or did I just get a bad one?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some honest feedback from other 2026 Atlas owners, particularly in Canada.

My family leased a brand-new 2026 Atlas Highline about six weeks ago, and it’s currently sitting at the dealership again.

It’s only around 3,000 km old, and I’m trying to figure out whether we’ve simply been unlucky with one defective vehicle or if others have experienced similar issues.

Here’s what we’ve dealt with so far:
- Front center speaker trim had to be replaced under warranty.
- Passenger front window has a one-touch issue where trying to close it from halfway causes it to roll all the way down instead.
- Keyless entry has been unreliable since the second day we owned it. It works maybe 20% of the time, and multiple fault codes have been recorded.
- The infotainment system has randomly rebooted multiple times, disconnecting CarPlay and Bluetooth.
- Front Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Travel Assist, and Collision Warning have all intermittently disabled themselves while driving.
- Check engine light came on during a highway trip.
- We repeatedly reported a braking issue where, after about 10–15 minutes of driving, the brakes would feel rough and make a grinding/sticky noise. After several visits, the shop foreman finally drove with me long enough to reproduce it, and they identified a brake-related issue requiring replacement parts. The vehicle has now been at the dealership for over a week waiting for those parts.

The dealership has been polite and has provided a loaner, so this isn’t really about poor customer service. My frustration is that almost every visit seems to uncover another issue, and several concerns were initially dismissed until they were eventually reproduced.

Interestingly, while mine has been in the shop, I’ve been driving another 2025 Atlas loaner. It feels completely different—much smoother, no odd noises, CarPlay has been flawless, and it generally drives the way I expected my vehicle to drive from day one. My sister also bought a 2026 Atlas from the same dealership shortly after I did and hasn’t experienced any of these problems.

So I’m curious:
- Has anyone else had this many issues this early?
- Has anyone experienced the Front Assist/ACC failures or keyless entry problems?
- If you had multiple unrelated issues on a brand-new Atlas, did everything eventually get sorted out, or did problems continue?
- If you lost confidence in the vehicle, how did Volkswagen Canada handle it?

I’m not trying to bash Volkswagen. I actually really like the Atlas itself, which is why this has been so disappointing. I’m just trying to understand whether this sounds like one defective vehicle or if this is something others have seen.

Thanks in advance—I appreciate any experiences or advice.
