How is KC an Augustine?

The writers have said that they like to think of KC as part of all 3 founding families but KC is not an Augustine. Kat being married to Elliot and KC forming a bond with him would not make her an Augustine.

Maybe the writers meant it in a metaphorical way, like KC is the one that unites all the founding families together but that is not true for the Augustine side. Kat and Elliot would have ended up together whether Jacob and Abby got together or not. So the quote in my opinion is quite misleading.

"You will meet her, one day"

This is what Nick said to Alice about Claire.

This, along with the whole, "Get out there and see what you want and then you can come back home" dialogue made me think that they implied that Claire is Alice.

Then I realized that this would not make sense and so here are my counter arguments:

  1. Claire did not want to live in Port Haven, while Nick was homesick. If Claire was Alice, then she would be more willing to go back home.

  1. You could argue that she didn't want to go to Port Haven because people would realize that Claire is actually Alice but then she wouldn't have eventually agreed to move there in the first place.

  1. Alice ending up with Nick is the anti-thesis of the show. The whole point of the show is moving on from the past and embracing your present with your family. If adult Alice travelled back in time to be with Nick, she'd be living in the past and away from her family in the present.

  1. No one else from the show ended up with their love from the past. Kat didn't end up with Thomas, Jacob didn’t end up with anyone from the 1800s and Del didn't end up with Colton from the past.

  1. By this point, Alice has spent more time with Adult Nick than Teen Nick (Nick from the Lingermore party was also an adult, he was 22-24, while Alice was still 16). So them ending up together would be creepy.

Now, if that line of dialogue to Alice wasn't a nod to some fans, then I have a theory on who Claire could be.

-Claire is someone Alice will meet on her time-travelling adventures.

- Judging by how Nick mentions her but we (and the other characters) never see her, Claire could be going on her own time-travelling adventures because Claire is a Landry.

-Another reason why Claire hasn't met the others yet is because she doesn't want to meet them yet because her side of the family is estranged from the Landrys. Claire is Griffin's daughter. The only one who knows about this for now is Nick.

- Then a hypothetical season 5 would be Alice and Claire working together to unite the 2 sides of the Landry family again.

Of course, I don't have any concrete evidence. This is just a wild theory that I thought of.
