Hey guys! Wanted to share my experience for anyone who hasn’t tried using an agent yet. This was my first time using GTBuy — actually my first time using ANY agent 😂
For the past year I was honestly too timid to try agents, so I only bought direct. After doing this haul though… I can confidently say I’ll probably never do direct shipping again. Maybe for a one-off pair of shoes, but NEVER for clothes. I’m hooked now lol.
Ordering was pretty straightforward overall. One thing I didn’t realize beforehand is that agents do seem to charge a slight premium through the exchange rate compared to direct pricing. From what I understand, that’s pretty normal across all agents though.
Once my haul got a little over 8kg, I decided to try their “package rehearsal” service. It only cost $1.62 and they basically pre-pack your haul according to your request. Vacuum seal clothes, remove shoeboxes, shoe trees, etc. They have a few free and paid options. Turnaround was less than 24 hours and it reduced my haul from 8.24kg down to 6.8kg.
I also added insurance plus waterproof stretch wrap for extra protection. Final USPS (8-12 days) shipping cost came out to $148.80 after using a 35% off coupon, which honestly seemed pretty reasonable to me.
Shipping was WAY faster than I expected too considering their holiday was about to start:
• Ordered: 04/29
• Picked up: 05/01
• Export customs cleared: 05/07
• US customs cleared: 05/10
• Delivered to my door: 05/13
Overall I’m super happy with how everything arrived. Packaging was solid, everything was sealed well, and the process was a lot smoother than I expected for my first haul.
I already have 3 more hauls in progress lol 🫣
