Grabbing an emesis bag instead of zofran - a small victory
A few days ago I started a new birth control that will hopefully help my endometriosis and painful ovulation issues, but have to get through an adjustment period first. First few days went pretty well, but yesterday was tough. Lots of diarrhea, sometimes liquid, nausea, stomach burning, feeling super hungry but then feeling sick every time I ate, etc. Stomach felt so tight and just bad. Last night it was coming time to take my next dose of birth control and I knew I needed to eat a little something. I took a bite of a pb and j and the smell/taste hit really weird and I felt a surge of nausea. I walked around for a bit and went into the pantry and looked at a bottle of zofran. Realllllly looked at it. Instead of grabbing it, I grabbed an emesis bag and walked around for a bit, focusing on my breathing and sipping water. Eventually things settled a bit and I was able to eat some plain rice with some milk and took my next dose. While I haven't thrown up in a long time and still am not even sure what it will feel like or how to actually know its gonna happen, grabbing an emesis bag and trying to work through the situation myself instead of taking zofran is something I'm proud of.
