Does ARCA deserve more respect?

I know the racing can be boring often and is full of slower roadblocks, but these so called "professionals" really deserve some credit. They are running speeds that, most of us, has never ran. Okay maybe not the absolute backmarker cars running engines form the 2000's, but most of the cars within some pace of the leaders. Especially at Daytona and Talladega. And even though stock cars are safer than other forms of racing like IndyCar, they still risk injury when they step in. Also, it's hot on there, especially during a 90+ degree summer day. And even the guys like Brad Smith and Bobby Hillis Jr and Alex Clubb, the pure grit they put in. They race for the love of it, they run on shoestrings budgets. Just for them to show up to the track is a win for them. So in a series dominated by PRG and JGR, take a moment to respect the blue-collar, gritty underdogs that makes this series, a grassroot series. Of course this is my opinion and nearly anyone can race most tracks with a valid ARCA liscence. But still, this is many of these drivers love.

Chevrolet Delivers on 4th of July weekend in ARCA at Chicagoland

Chevrolet took the top 4 spots in the ARCA Menards Series race at Chicagoland. The winner was Connor Mosack, who made a daring 3 wide move on Lanie Buice and Thomas Annunziata on a restart before the race break to take the lead and never looked back. To round out the great day for Shane Huffman and the PRG crew, Lanie Buice brought it home in a career best P2 and was actually closing in on Mosack in the long run late in the race. 3rd after giving it everything he had, the car was slipping sideways in the corners from racing so hard on worn tires, Landon S. Huffman. The S, of course, stands for Shane, his dad and owner of PRG. So for the Huffman family and PRG, a dream finish for them. And P4 was another Chevy driver, unalifiliated to PRG or the Huffman's but still driving a Chevrolet for Sigma Performance Services, Daniel Dye, who started on the front row alongside Thomas Annunziata and consistently ran up in the top 5 contending and brought it home P4. The rest of the top 10 was pole sitter Thomas Annunziata in P5, Jade Avedisian brought home a solid P6 finish for Nitro Motorsports, P7 was Andy Jankowiak, his best outing since his win at Talladega earlier in the season. P8 was Jake Bollman, who holds his points lead by 22 points over Annunziata, P9 was another Chevrolet driver in Jason Kitzmiller, who was driving for CR7 Motorsports, the same team as Landon S. Huffman drove to 3rd with. Rounding out the top 10, the young Canadian driver, Kyle Steckly, giving RAFA it's first ever ARCA platform top 10 finish to date. Other notable finishers included local driver Tim Richmond in his #27 car in P11, Gavan Boschele recovered from a bad pit stop that cost him a lap at the race break to finish P12, his teammate at Nitro Motorsports, Isabella Robusto, fought a track bar issue to a P13 finish, Morgen Baird P14, and in his ARCA National debut, Landon Brown, for the #69 Ford Mustang for Kimmel Racing, brought it home P15.

Ty Fredrickson Finishes 3rd at Elko 2026

The local hometown hero had a solid night. After starting P5 he methodically worked his way as high as P2 and at one point looked like he had the pace to run down the #18 if the race stayed green. Fredrickson fell to 4th but rebounded back by Taylor Reimer and brought it home P3. Could this race be what he needs to jumpstart his racing career?

Post race interview:

Reporter: Nice solid night for you tonight finishing third in your lone start of the season. How big is that for you?

Ty Fredrickson: Yeah it's awesome, huge thanks to Nitro Motorsports, Toyota Racing and all the local companies that help me come out and do this. Today we unloaded, we weren't really good and every chance we had got Shane Wilson made the car a number better so I just need to do this more often and hopefully I can continue to do these races and get a little better every race.

Reporter: What do you think a performance like that tonight does in getting you more opportunities to do this more often?

Ty Fredrickson: I'll let fate decide that, but yeah just super thankful for this opportunity. It's super fun to come out here and race a race at my home track and got a- got a lot of fans here so it's welcoming.

2026 ARCA Menards Series Shore Lunch 250 presented by Dutch Boy at Elko Speedway Entry List:

This entry list will consist of 21 cars for the ARCA Menards Series at Elko Speedway for the Shore Lunch 250 present by Dutch Boy. You can catch the race on FS2 at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT/6 PM PT. The race is interesting as it will start at daylight, around a hour give or take before sunset, but by the checkered flag it will be dark, it is one of few ARCA races that you will see do that, so don't miss. Also the banked corners make the racing side by side, agressive, fast, and exciting on the 3/8 mile track.

2026 ARCA Race at Elko:

There is 4 drivers to watch for this weekend's race. One is the points leader in the #20 of Jake Bollman, as he tries to hold off his teammate at Nitro Motorsports in the #70 car of Thomas Annunziata. We will see if Annunziata can beat out Bollman as he did at Berlin, Toledo and Watkins Glen.

Max Reaves is looking to put the Joe Gibbs Racing #18 in victory lane for the 4th consecutive week in this summer stretch. Reaves last outing was at Berlin, where he led over three quarters of the race en route to his first national series victory of the season. JGR has won nearly half of the races this season to date, the #18 of Max Reaves looks to carry the momentum into Elko.

However, with the main storylines out the way, there is one driver who is still seeking their first ARCA Menards Series platform victory, the driver of the #55 for Nitro Motorsports, Isabella Robusto. Coming off a solid 5th place run at Berlin, Robusto and the Nitro team as a whole seems closer to inching towards victory #1 of the season for the team. Robusto has 2 previous starts at Elko, in 2024 and 2025. In 2024, Robusto qualified P3 in just her 2nd national series start at Elko and ran top 3 most of the first half of the race before running into the #6 of Lavar Scott who had to slow down for Michael Maples in the #99 cutting in front of him. Robusto took a hard hit into Scott and Kris Wright in the #15 piled into the back of Robusto. All 4 cars made repairs to continue on, but Robusto by far suffered the worst of it. However, the #55 crew did not give up and taped the nose and hood and with slightly crooked steering, Robusto brought it home in P4 in 2024, followed the P4 up with a P4 in 2025 and was battling for a podium run consistently in that race. With drivers like William Sawalich and Lavar Scott moving up to the O'Reiley's (Formerly Xfinity) series, this could open the door for Robusto to claim victory #1. We've seen the potential, now it's time to leave it all on the track for the #55 team. It won't be easy with Max Reaves in the JGR #18, Nitro Motorsports teammates in Jake Bollman and Thomas Annunziata, including in the #25 Ty Fredrickson making his season debut at Elko, looking to better a 3rd place run in his ARCA platform debut in 2025, and the Pinnacle Racing Group cars of Carson Brown in the #28 and Taylor Reimer in the #77, Reimer off a 4th place run at Berlin. Other entries are still pending but regardless, there is stiff competition for Robusto, but we know the speed and talent and momentum is on their side, so on one of Robusto's best tracks, the chance of victory has never been higher for the 21 year old.

Over/Under (O/U): 2026 ARCA Berlin Edition: Max Reaves

This is a new game I'm experimenting with. I will also post other drivers' O/U in the race too. This is Max Reaves, driver of the #18 Cook Out Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing. His O/U is 2.5.

If you pick O: that means you saying he'll finish P3 or worse, if you pick U, it means P2 or better

Note: I will do the picks as usual still for Berlin, this is just a experimental game.
