Is this normal or am I getting scammed by the school I work at?

So, to get straight to the point: I work as an English teacher at a private school. A couple of months ago, my colleague (the French teacher) and I were asked by the headmaster to create English books for different levels. I ended up creating two books and am currently working on a third.

I invested an incredible amount of time into them. We were on a very tight deadline, so I spent many sleepless nights writing, designing, and perfecting the books.

Now that the first two books have been completed and printed, I asked one of the secretaries about the price they would be sold for and whether I would receive a share of the profits. She said she wasn't sure and would ask the headmaster, but I never heard back. Later, I asked one of the other assistants, and she hinted that we might not receive anything at all. I explained how stressful and time-consuming the entire process had been and that I didn't think it would be fair for me to receive no compensation after putting so much work into the books the conversation became a little awkward, but she said she would ask about it as well

At this point, I'm just frustrated I think I might directly speak with the headmaster at this point. What do you guys think I should do? What would you do if you were in my situation?

I'm really curious to know if cyber cafes are still a thing, and I'm not talking about a video games place but an actual old school cyber cafe where there are multiple computer desks for people to rent. I've been feeling nostalgic because I remember in middle school all of us used to go to one for the school projects. All of the ones in my town are closed now and I'm curious to know if there are any still open in bigger cities, even though i know it's highly unlikely.
