Does anyone know what could be causing the rear passenger footwell to get damp on a 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara?

Hi all,

I only noticed today that the rear passenger footwell had been damp on my 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara. The dampness also extended slightly to the middle console area. The dampness is only in the footwell area. It has been raining for the past couple of weeks in Sydney, and I have had passengers sit in this seat and no one has ever noticed this. Any idea what could be causing this?

Edit: There is no sunroof

I am thinking of getting a used car. I just wanted to get a feel of what other people are driving and their experience with them. I am planning to do some light soft roading for camping and such, and am tossing around these options. I also live in the suburbs so am looking for something that is suitable as a daily and decent on fuel. I am considering mainly these options:

- RAV4 Third Gen

- CR-V Second Gen

- Suzuki Grand Vitara Third Gen (probably 2012-2013 range)

My budget is around the 10-12k range so I am just looking for something that is reliable and won’t cause too much of a headache long term. I don’t know much about cars so aren’t too familiar with what to look for. Ideally would be after a 4x4 or AWD for the weekends.

Any advice when looking at any of these? Thanks.
