Was walking from ACM to funan mall when I passed by a signage for the Parliament Visitor Centre.
Asked the policemen at the guardpost if can go inside see see, he say can
Do bag check and im in, a small gallery talking abt the development of sg parliament, glossary on parliamentary terms and key milestones
Hidden gem
I booked a slot for the jew museum in the Jacob ballas centre, which is beside maghain aboth synagogue. It's a very interesting experience
I reached the entrance gate, the indian security guard ask me wait for awhile first
Aft checking my ic and booking email, I was let into the grounds
I was explicitly told to only explore the heritage gallery and come back to the gate, no going elsewhere
Spent some time reading the information board, then got an ang moh came by to say hello, he offered to give me a brief tour of the synagogue inside. So interesting, I nvr been inside one before
The guy was rushing to another meeting, and at 1st he left me inside the synagogue alone to explore, but the security guard told him I cnnt be left alone
Finishing up with the museum, I asked the security guard if I could go back to take a few more pictures of the synagogue exterior. Unfortunately, the answer was no as there was no guide with me. He also say I already took photos, so no need to take again
When I was walking out, I wanted to take the exterior of the museum, but the security guard told me no more photos. Didnt want to cause any trouble, I nodded, apologised and walk away. The whole incident made me felt like im a criminal doing something illegal and nasty
Maghain aboth synagogue made me feel like im going to a high security complex. Compared to other religious places like churches, temples and mosques, synagogues are rly rly strict
Why is this so? Imma read abt it more online
I rly want to explore old abandoned places in Singapore, keppel hill reservoir, jap tomb, haw par beach villa etc etc
Recommend any groups to join?
Normally people of my age like to go club, drink, go siam diu, go bali all that
But none of this interests me at all
What interests me is history, nature and heritage etc
[I dont rly like to expose this side of myself bcoz obv pple will judge you as being nerdy and geeky]
This past mth i have been exploring singapore alot, I've been behaving like a tourist in my own country
Visit Chinatown, kampong glam, little india, civic district
Went for hikes at macritchie, bukit timah, southern island
Explored many museums, heritage galleries and parks
Tbh, I dont think my parents understand this at all, they always think that whenever I go out, it's a bad thing. Whenever I go for this trips, I don't spend alot, I take mrt bus, I eat hawker food and the only thing I bring back is all the photos I've taken
What do u'll think about this
