When did you realize your salary wasn't actually that big?

I remember getting my first decent salary and thinking, "Okay, I'm finally financially comfortable."

Then real life happened.

Rent.

Bills.

Food.

Transportation.

Random purchases.

Work expenses that somehow come out of your own pocket.

And suddenly the salary that looked big on paper doesn't feel that big anymore.

I think this was one of the biggest adulting lessons for me.

Your salary isn't really about how much comes in.

It's also about how much actually stays.

Did anyone else have that moment where they finally realized their salary wasn't as big as they thought?
