Up coming surgery issues

Folks,

It’s has been a while since I last asked a question so here it goes.

A discectomy L4 went real bad 4 years ago, sepsis, vertebrae resection, etc. bad bad pain. Been on an extended release med with immediate release available as well as the usual suspects.

Well I need C7 T1 at minimum stabilized. Doc says I am in for “hell” because they will not be able to control the pain. PT is going to cut meds by 30% next month to get ready.

This just does not feel right to me. Oh yea and they will approach from the back.

Why, Just Why

I had to have an Afib ablation procedure, so I talked with the doc and pain treatment before hand, letting them know I have chronic back and neck pain. They all said the care team will keep you comfortable and Pain Treatment was fully on board. BTW the procedure took place out of town at a hospital I don’t usually go to.

Well I missed first opiate dose then two hours later we missed the GABA dose. Then it was too close to the procedure.

After a bit the anesthesiologist shows up, BP 186/88 she noticed and made me comfortable until the start and then when I awoke she gave me a shot of just pain meds.

I started my three hours of stillness. The first 45 minutes was not bad, but the rest just got worse and worse to the point where I said just let me leave, please.

Why, when there is empirical evidence of a specific diagnosis where I am on a solid pain regimen do they just ignore it.

I have suffered worse but why on earth would they knowingly make me suffer saying you can take it easy when you get home, would you like a lidocaine patch?

Yea I will take it easy because it will be days before I am back to my normal.

Just had to b17ch, sorry.
