It was light work IMO, nothing we didnt cover in class or didnt see in problem sets.

I was looking for the rate my prof and through this subreddit but couldn't find any info on the experience of this class with Olumide. Has anyone taken this class with this prof? How is it?

On my awards hub it says that my general application needs to be finished but the thing is im an incoming first year and I did it in earlier this year, but the deadline now is 7/15/2027.

So is this my general application for next year? In that case do I check the boxes that apply to if ive already completed a year of schooling?

Is it normal for an award to not yet be applied in my BearTracks? I received 3 awards and two of them have been applied to my fees for the upcoming year, but the largest one is not applied although it shows ive accepted it and whatnot in the awardshub. Is this normal?

So I live almost 2 hours from Edmonton, and so my summer oppurtunities for employment are very limited and not exactly diverse. I am worried that due to this I wont be able to build a strong portfolio of experience throughout my summer breaks. The main options that are left in my circumstances are either summer student positions at oil companies (doing very bleak student work) or retail, is there anyone who was/is rural have the same situation but get a good outcome? I can live in the city during the summers due to the way my apartment lease will run, but I feel as though I would better be representing my connection to the rural community I grew up in by working rural, and by getting a city position I may be watering down that angle. Thoughts?

I have looked and found some pretty slim information on the rural application route for Ualberta. I am wondering to those who had gotten in using this pathway, what were your stats/ECs?

I ask because I am an incoming first year undergrad, and I aim for UofA Med, but having to move from a rural community means I will have almost no time to dedicate hours to unpaid volunteering, so far I have had around 1100 hours the last two summers (5 months total) being a pesticide applicator/vegetation control employee travelling far and wide across Alberta, even doing helicopter fly ins. I also had a auto parts desk job at Canadian Tire since I was 15 until a couple months ago, likely a 1000 hour endeavour or more. Lastly ive also began volunteering with seniors at my local rural hospital (21 hours) but with the demanding hours of my current job its very hard to get these hours volunteering.

Is the rural pathway going to be a saving grace for me in the future? Especially since all of this work experience was rural (vegetation control/land reclamation projects up north near Wabasca, Slave Lake, etc)?

Thanks for reading 😄

So in November I am going to be turning 18, ive been working lots over the last few years and have saved up quite a bit of money, I was wondering would it be wiser to dump the initial $7000 into a tfsa (buying XEQT likely) immediately, or should I do monthly contributions to neutralize the chance of a rough start?

If anyone is planning on dropping this class im begging you to let me know, really wanna take this class in the winter semester but since im a first year it was basically full by the time my registration began.

Beartracks today completely screwed me for registering and now the only ENGL 103 slot that fits in my schedule is a 3 hour class once a week, for those who have taken this how is it? It will probably be very boring but I was just looking for insight?
