First public telling of my experience.

When I was 14 (49 years ago), I was taken by "aliens". It started with coloured ights outside my bedroom window, coming through the curtains Spielberg style. Although Spielberg alien movies weren't a thing back then, he later portrayed the phenomenon in his movies perfectly in my opinion.

One moment I was frozen on my bed, the next I was in what I can only describe as a liminal space. There was an off white glow in this space, but nothing cast any shadow. Not even my own hands. I could see no walls, ceiling or floor.

I was surrounded by "living pillars". These "pillars" were white and slightly translucent. Their skin was completely transparent and their "bodies" were also transparent but only to a depth of around an inch after which they turned to a milky white.

These "living pillars" had no arms, legs, faces or any discernable features but they spoke to me telepathically. This "speech" was not even in English yet I understood perfectly what they were asking.

They seemed to close in around me, oppressing me to the point where I couldn't move and yet I had no sense of how big they were or how near or far from me they were. There was simply a feeling of claustrophobia, a heaviness combined with an intense, dull, throbbing headache and a feeling of nausea.

They were asking the same questions over and over (which I won't divulge here) and were insisting upon answers which I struggled to give them, although I eventually succeeded 4 days later to their satisfaction. (see below)

All the while this was happening, there were what are now described as the classic grey aliens, moving in and out and between these "living pillars" . Some near and some distant. They were walking but there was still no visible floor or shadows cast.

Some of these greys were "attending" to me. Some with instruments , some without. Although I couldn't feel anything, I could somehow tell that whatever they were doing to me, was invasive. I was filled with fear. Frozen in place. My fear mostly came from 3 things. The invasive procedures, the feeling of intense oppression from the "pillars", but also, the lack of any shadows being cast anywhere or by anything.

After a while, I would suddenly be back in my bed, wide awake. This occurred every night for 4 consecutive niights until eventually, they were satisfied by my answers.

I have never been taken since that 4 night occurrence 49 years ago but occasionally, around twice a year, I will awaken to see a grey or sometimes 2, standing in my bedroom only for them to almost immediately vanish. On rare occasions they will attack me. I say attack but it's more of a fear inducing thing where they clamber over me or move around my bedroom floor just out of sight as I lay in my bed, unable to move.

I have only ever told this to my late wife (with less detail) who never gave an opinion as to whether or not she believed me, but also never ridiculed me either.

EDIT: Ok, so the reason I didn't want to say what the questions were, is because, even to me the abductee, it sounds ludicrous. They wanted to know what I believed to be my "theory of everything"

Yeah, ikr? It just makes it all sound like they thought I was some kind of Einstein, which of course I'm not. At the time I was just 14 and I didn't even understand what they meant exactly. How should I know what answer they required? It was all alien to me (pun intended)

In the end, after it became clear that they wren't going to leave me alone, and litteraly almost going crazy during my waking hours wracking my brains for the answer, I had a revelation. An epiphany. Day 4, they were seemingly satisfied with my response and then they were gone. Hopefully never to return.

Details have been announced for the celebrations for what would have been the 80th birthday of the late Pink Floyd co-founding member, singer and guitarist, Syd Barrett, which include a live concert in Cambridge and a tribute album featuring members of Pink Floyd, which will raise money for mental health charities.

The events take place with the full support of Barrett's family, his sister Rosemary Breen saying, "The family wholeheartedly support these exciting events in aid of mental health charities. Syd would have been so happy and honoured to know his music was still being enjoyed in Cambridge.”
