I just saw this tweet that hit over 1 million views about Sorachi. Some Japanese fans seem worried that with his new series, he might’ve lost the ability to make readers feel excited enough to keep turning the page and stay fully engaged.
What do you all think? Do you think that criticism is fair, or is it still way too early to judge considering we’ve barely seen any of the cast yet aside from the two main characters?

With so many major series wrapping up lately, it feels like the manga landscape is changing fast. Chainsaw Man, Black Clover, Fire Force and a bunch of other newer gen titles are either ending or entering their final phases, and One Piece itself is deep into the endgame territory.
What ongoing manga do you all think is going to carry the next wave of hype? My weekly reading list keeps shrinking these days, especially with Sakamoto Days apparently entering its final arc too.
Imo Naruto has a really great first chapter as a hook. By the first chapter we get a solid exploration of Naruto’s character and the overarching theme of the series— the consequences of isolation and importance of connection. Then we get this really good scene as a hook. The first chapter we see how isolated Naruto is due to the nine tails and desperately tries to get people’s attention even if it gets him in trouble. At the end, he hears a confession that the closest person he has to a father has ill feelings towards him, but then we learn that’s not the case and Naruto finally cries in relief that there is someone in his life that cares for him. Great storytelling.
