I’m building a Berlin swimming map and thinking about starting a casual Berlin Swimmers Club
Hey everyone,
I’ve been swimming for many years and I’m currently building a small website around swimming in Berlin: Squalo Schwimmcoaching.
To be fully transparent: yes, it’s also possible to book flexible 1:1 swimming coaching through the site. But I don’t want it to be just a coaching page. I’m trying to build it into a useful overview for people who swim in Berlin, want to get back into swimming, or are new to the city and looking for good places to swim.
Right now the site has a map with pools, lakes and swimming spots around Berlin. The idea is to improve it step by step with verified opening times, water quality and water temperature info, updates about pools that are closed or under renovation, and eventually photos showing what the places currently look like.
I’m also thinking about turning this into a casual Berlin Swimmers Club — kind of like a runner club, but for swimming. Not a formal club, not competitive training, no pressure. More like a relaxed meetup for people who enjoy swimming, want to discover new places, or just want to meet other swimmers in Berlin.
For the first casual swim meet, I’m aiming for the weekend around August 31. I’ll probably add a small scheduling/signup tool to the website so people can vote or register without any commitment. Once that’s online, I’ll post an update here.
For now I mainly wanted to share the site and get a feeling for whether people would actually be interested in something like this.

I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Which swimming spots are missing?
Would you be interested in a casual Berlin Swimmers Club?
What information would actually be useful on a Berlin swimming map?
Would you prefer pool swimming, lake swimming or open-water meetups?
Happy to hear honest feedback, also critical.
