My Great Uncle’s 100yo Illinois
Luckily, I was able to rescue this watch from a dusty box full of Limoge miniatures (odd). It was sealed in a glass dome which I think did a decent job preserving it. The dial shows damage and history of some repair but I kept it wound over 24hrs and it seems to keep perfect time.
I popped the case back and observed what seems like signatures from watchmakers who serviced it?
Since I have limited knowledge of pieces like this, I’d be grateful to get more information on this watch and maybe some tips to maintain it as I hope to keep it running nicely. I do plan on bringing it to the horologist in town when I’ve got the time and money. How many times is appropriate to wind a watch like this?
