No fight over the new cat tower
I cat-sat for a friend and got this cat tower as a thank-you gift. Turns out, everyone got exactly what they wanted :D

Strawberry Raffaello Tiramisu, because I need something sweet.
Hello, it's the pizza snail girl from Germany again! 👋 Maybe you remember my last post about my awful date with that right-wing guy...
Well, my romantic life isn't going well.
I gathered all my courage and finally asked out my coworker. He said that we could hang out, but only as friends.
I feel so ashamed and dumb right now. I really thought we had a connection, but apparently, it was all just my imagination. At least I timed my question so it was his last day before leaving the office for a while, so I don't have to face him tomorrow.
Fun fact: in Germany you say that you get a basket when someone rejects you.
Edit: I totally agree that you shouldn't date coworkers in general, but in our case, we're only in the office in phases. Most of the time, we work separately at different schools.
Pizza rolls in honor of my best worst date.
I thought I had already had my worst date with someone who was so afraid of pigeons that he literally ran away. But life always has another plan.
For context: we were dating for a short time a couple of years ago. He suddenly ended things via text, without explanation. 4 years later after another relationship I started using dating apps again and saw HIM. I immediately swiped left. Then he found me on another dating app where you could send sweet little messages without a match. I thought, oh well, let’s hear him out.
When we started talking again, he made a big deal about how much he had changed. He told me he had now been diagnosed with ADHD, which supposedly explained his past behavior. He insisted that he was incredibly self-reflected now and had learned how to handle conflicts properly. We texted a lot and had great calls. We finally met up, and everything was great: great communication, great chemistry.
Up until last week. The stereotype about Deutsche Bahn is awfully true. I had to change platforms four times before even entering the train. Delay of about an hour. No problem. We were meeting at the river and went to a restaurant. He ordered a bowl and I ate pizza rolls. We were having a great and funny conversation until the topic switched to politics (I know, difficult). He is far left now, and I’m also left. He said that he had been far right until his mid-twenties. I was surprised, but told him it was impressive that he had made such a turn (although I think you need to be careful with people who do a full 180).
While talking, I offered him one of my pizza rolls and more if he liked, because I know he loves them. Suddenly, he got really aggressive and told me to shut up and listen to him. I was stunned.
Of course, I know it’s rude to interrupt someone, so I apologized a thousand times and told him that I really didn’t want to disrespect him.
Afterwards, the mood was completely off. I told him that I might be too sensitive, but that I really didn’t like the way he had talked to me. Instead of apologizing, he completely flipped the script on me. He made me feel guilty about the entire situation and only focused on the fact that I had interrupted him (and that I asked him critical questions about his past). He acted completely hurt and said that he didn’t know if he could get over me interrupting him because he had been talking about a sensitive topic. He said he had to think about it for a couple of days and that it might be okay then.
I wished him the best and went home. Of course, the train back was delayed by 30 minutes, so I grabbed a beer and sat down in front of the main station like a lady. A guy asked me if I would like to get to know him. I thanked him and told him that I had already had a bad date.
I had spent three hours on trains for what was basically a 20 minute date.
Fun fact: pizza rolls are literally translated to pizza snails in German.
Edit: Thanks for all your lovely replies! I'm feeling a lot better now and thanks for all the laughs! I know it was dumb to date an ex, but that's it. I'll try to reply to your comments, I really didn't expect so many!
And so I learned that pizza rolls is not the appropriate term in English, but I still don't know a better one, sorry!
