I find one of the most important, yet overlooked factors that contributes to an album’s quality is the order of the songs so that the album has a sensible, often compelling pace. We don’t know what all these songs sound like yet, but I thought it would be fun to predict the order based off titles alone and what songs we are familiar with so far, as pointless as this may seem (I’m bored).

1: Into the Beginning (possibly the song they teased when the album was announced)

2: Tear it Down (the second track on many albums is often one of the more catchy songs)

5: Born into This

6: Play Your Games (Confirmed)

7: Call My Own

8: Boughten Bliss

This is obviously just guessing and pretty pointless, but I’m curious what you all think!

I’m really surprised we’re getting the album by October. I really thought we’d have to wait longer.

I love Josh’s voice but I’ve been whining for a while about how I missed his low register. Sounds like we’ll get it here. Also Danny’s drumming in this is so tight (as per usual).

Saw You Stand is awesome, but honestly the best part for me is Jake’s solo and how tight Sam and Danny are underneath of it.

It seems like they are doing a pop-up show around the same time a new song off the album drops. If that’s the case, I’m assuming we can expect maybe 2 more? Maybe 3 if they do one to coincide with the album’s release too?

I was expecting this to be coming out by November at the earliest. So seeing it’s coming out in early October was a pleasant surprise. Practically only a 2 month wait.

Do you think there’s a chance they’ll unveil it either to coincide with the new single or at their live show?

To me it’s when Axl has a high school reunion at the bar and starts crying. Not bad but it felt kinda out of nowhere.

It’s also fascinating that they’re teasing more than one song before the release of their 2nd single. To me, that says they’ll announce the album along with the 2nd single. Does this mean that it’s possible Heya will be the 2nd single? My gut is still saying Saw You Stand though. What do you all think?

He briefly mentions Greta at the end. He says he knows nothing about release dates but briefly touches on their recording process for their upcoming album.

their marketing team really peeves me off sometimes lol. Saw You Stand sounds awesome and I’m excited for its release but it is also kinda weird that we’ve already heard like half the song. Same thing happened with Play Your Games.

It’s also my fault cause I can’t help but watch the videos when they drop lol. In reality, their marketing team does their job very well because it gets us talking and excited. But I wish they would tease a little less so we have more to experience when the song(s) actually drop.

This is based off of nothing but a hunch lol

When do you all think we’ll get our second single? My guess is the second single will be released along with the official announcement of the upcoming album. I think the earliest we’d get it is June 26th; I’m hoping the latest we’d get it is July 10th, meaning the album would probably come out October or late September if we’re lucky. This is based off of nothing but a hunch and loosely analyzing their past patterns. The Play Your Games 45s ship out on August 14; assuming it will have a B-side track, I assume we will definitely get our next single (maybe Tear it Down) before then.

The new Instagram Post shows snapshots of them in the recording studio. In one slide we hear them playing some new music. I dig it. Is this just them playing around? Or do you think this is them putting a new song together for the album?

I’ll cheat and say two.

1. I think any comparisons to Led Zeppelin should be taken as a compliment rather than a criticism.

2. Black Flag Exposition > The Weight of Dreams

A new song title has surfaced: Into the Beginning.

That means we now have 13 songs, making this their longest album yet by number of tracks. It’s possible more songs might surface too!

Now that we have 12 song titles for the upcoming album, I thought it would be fun to predict the style of each song based on the title alone, considering these are likely all of the songs, if not most of them. Obviously we don’t know anything for sure, this is purely for fun. Let me know what you guys think! Feel free to leave out the two songs we’ve heard for obvious reasons.

For instance, I have a feeling Saw You Stand will have folky, acoustic vibe. Something lighter that might build up a moderate amount through out.
