On holiday in France without a guitar.
So I gave myself a Gibson J45 Studio walnut.🫣
Being the happy owner of a bunch of electric guitars I discovered the fun and joy of comparing acoustic guitars for sound, deel and projection.
Left a Taylor, the road warrior with real relic battlescars.
Second my favorite at this moment: Gibson J-185 Custom Shop. Sounds very open and still with lots of bass. (And I think she’s gorgeous!)
Third: Guild D40, with an adirondack top. This one roars! High volume, plenty of bass, yet still transparent. A beast!
Last one: Fender 12-string from 1972. Produced in the Ferada factory in Japan.
Despite some top bellying (the soundboard bulging slightly due to years of string tension), it is of course highly playable with a modest, almost mellow volume.
I need more acoustic guitars…!🤭
New arrival at my house:
A very very nice J-185 EC all maple.
Sounds and plays like a dream!
