I reached chapter 6 on akumu on the PS3 and I have been struggling for the last 2 hours trying to make it past the 2 doors

Evil within PS3
I'm going for the platinum on the Evil within PS3 version ( already done the PS4) I noticed on the PS4 version you could open the inventory to slow down the bombs on the wall,I figured it would still work on the PS3 and it doesn't, was that a thing on the PS4 or do I need to un patch my game or something
