How is Semmozhi Salai still in this condition when it is basically a gateway to Chennai's IT corridor?

This is Semmozhi Salai, Perumbakkam - the road connecting the Medavakkam/Perumbakkam side towards Sholinganallur and ELCOT.

Just look at the roadside. Garbage dumped everywhere (even the partial 100meters of the road which falls under GCC).

Thousands of people use this stretch every day. ELCOT is right there, with HCL, Wipro, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra and other IT companies nearby. There are huge apartment communities all around Perumbakkam too.

What I don't understand is how an area this urbanised is apparently still under Panchayat administration and sitting just outside Chennai Corporation limits.

This doesn't feel like some remote village road. It's one of the main approaches to Chennai's IT corridor.

And because it's near the boundary, I genuinely don't even know whom residents are supposed to hold accountable. Chennai Corporation? Perumbakkam Panchayat? Chengalpattu district administration? Highways?

Forget beautification. Can we at least have regular garbage collection and stop the roadside from becoming a dumping ground?

I'm planning to raise this with the concerned authorities and tag CMO/Rural Development as well.

If anyone here knows exactly which authority is responsible for garbage clearance on Semmozhi Salai near Perumbakkam, please share.

Also curious to hear from people living around Perumbakkam - is garbage collection this bad inside the residential areas too, or is this mainly happening along the main road?
