EA FC 26: Massive lagging/stuttering after 2-3 matches on Luna

Hi everyone,

I’m creating this post because EA FC 26 becomes completely unplayable on Amazon Luna after playing just 2 to 3 matches. The framerate drops massively, and the input delay becomes unbearable.

To rule out my own setup, I tested the game on my local gaming PC as well. My PC has more than enough power, but it suffers from the exact same issue:

  • My Local PC Specs:
    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
    • RAM: 32 GB DDR4
    • Performance: It easily runs hardware-heavy games on Ultra settings flawlessly for hours without a single issue.
    • Even on this local machine with a solid GPU, EA FC 26 starts stuttering heavily after 2-3 games, which is a textbook sign of a terrible VRAM memory leak in EA's engine.

Since Luna runs the PC version of the game, the exact same coding bug is killing the Luna servers. I checked the in-game settings on Luna and verified that the game is assigned to an NVIDIA VGX instance (NVIDIA Tesla T4 with 16 GB VRAM) running at 1080p / 60Hz on the Frankfurt (Germany) servers.

Even if I set all graphical settings in the game to "Low", the server performance completely degrades after 45 minutes of gameplay. My internet connection is absolutely perfect: 243 Mbps Download / 40 Mbps Upload with a stable 8 ms ping to Frankfurt.

This is 100% a software issue on EA's end. The game simply fails to clear the VRAM cache after a match ends, eventually choking the 16 GB VRAM of the server instance. The only temporary fix right now is restarting the Luna stream every two games.

Are any other European players experiencing this? Is there any way the Luna team can contact EA about this broken memory management? It’s ruining an otherwise great cloud experience.
