Has anyone else had a email from your department straight up lie to you??

Okay i emailed my department for permission to enrol into a course

(switched majors and my permission for required classes is still reserved)

Anyway i emailed them twice both on monday and today and they have gotten back to me saying i had 24 hour permission but whenever i actually tried to change my section it was still reserved.

I brought this up with them when it happened the second time and gave them the course, lab, and Cat# of the desired course i’m looking for (Lab 13) they proceed to respond to my email by saying “Lab 14 is full try labs 13,15, or 17”

Like hello??? no fucking shit that’s why i’m asking for Lab 13 its like they don’t even read what i’m saying and they always give me the most soulless responses

Atp i think they’re annoyed with me emailing so much and have something against me 😭😭 maybe if they removed my restrictions permanently like i emailed them to do 2 times and yet they completely brushed over it and never acknowledged what i said and skipped to the other stuff in the emails

Im genuinely tweaking

Emailing the Faculty department is like talking to a brick wall

Omgggggggg

I recently changed my major but for some stupid reason all my enrolment access is still restricted so everytime i need a new course or a new timeslot that opens at a convenient time for me i have to email the department.

No idea how annoying it becomes plus especially if it’s after 5pm they won’t respond to me until the next morning and it’s already filled.

I got an email response from my department at 9am today saying i had unrestricted access for enrollment for 48 hours. I try to change a time slot and it still says it’s reserved. Great. I try for another course switching my section and it works! great but it was just a test so now i try switching back AND ITS RESERVED EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID I HAD 48 HOURS OF ACCESS now i have some lab at 8am on the day i had off.

yea it was probably stupid for me to test it out but seriously what the hell? I know i have a month and the first week of school for slots to open so it isn’t the end of the world but this is seriously pissing me off

Edit: AND I ALWAYS ASK IN MY EMAIL IF I CAN HAVE THE RESTRICTION PERMANENTLY REMOVED BUT THEY DONT ANSWER ME. THEY DONT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT I SAID

Lowk just needed to vent

KINE 1900 scheduling confusion

I’m a bit confused about KINE 1900.. on visual schedule builder it shows 2 slots a week. A fixed slot on monday that never moved and a second slot that you have the freedom of choosing which one you want.

That being said when i look at my official york schedule it only shows the one i chose (my Friday slot) and nothing on the monday so im just a bit confused on what the one on Monday is even for and why it doesn’t show up.

If anyone knows it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Confusing email response from my department..?

Okay so my program change request was finally accepted the day my course selection slot opened but when i tried to enroll in new courses it had said the slots were reserved.

Anyway i email the department and i get a response like not even 24 hours later thank god but the email states i only have 24 hours to enroll in courses..

Is that weird? Like what if i wanna switch sections would i not be able to switch sections after 24 hours even if they are major required courses?

Multiple program change requests?

Am i allowed to have multiple Program change requests ongoing at the same time? i have one currently being processed and the button for a program change is available to click unlike the other ones.

If i submit another one would it override or remove my old one? and if im accepted to both how would i pick which ones my major.

I know once it’s accepted you can only do one every 12 months but the status on mine is just that it’s been received.

Thanks.

Should i choose a schedule that has an overlap?

For reference i’m trying to choose my kine schedule
now there’s an open spot for a class that starts 8:30-9:50am and then a tutorial for a different class that starts at 9:30am

if i choose this my classes for my major would be fully focused on Monday - Wednesday 8-30am-11am but i would be 20 minutes late to a 50 minute tutorial plus how long it takes to get there..

Granted i could also just leave the first class early.

Thoughts?

chances of program change request interfering with course selection?

I have put in a change program request on may 4th requesting a change from Undeclared to Kinesiology (BA)

I don’t normally know how long this process takes but it’s been over a month and i haven’t received any news. I have emailed york to ask for an update and the automatic reply email said to wait for a response in 5-7 business days. It has been 8 and yes i know it isn’t much leeway and it’s york so…

On the student portal it says my course selection for my undeclared major is june 29th. I am worried that this date is way after the kine major and i won’t be able to get into the selections i want (i have them mapped out on the visual schedule builder).

I know it’s not the end of the world because when accepted i should definitely be in the required classes but it would be a shame if my schedule is so spread out especially since i’m commuting.

Has anyone gone through something similar or have an estimate of how long this process takes? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Does anyone know if i’m able to see the percentage that i got in a class?

Like if i got a A+ do i just assume i got a 100%?
